Not happy or unhappy. When former Flames leave, be it Iginla, Byron, etc, I just can’t muster any real attachment to them. That’s just me. Even Gio, despite the handle. I just haven’t asked the mods to change my name to TanevforPM.

I just don't know how you can he a hockey fan and not love Playoff Sam Bennett. This is literally the prototype for how you'd make a player play.

I've thought about this too....Could work out better for the Flames the way things are though. The biggest issue the Flames have had for years is complacency. I'd rather see the Flames come out of the first round with a win after giving it their all than coasting.
Hopefully, the Avs destroy the Preds, and then run into a hungry team in round 2. Maybe 1-2 extra losses in the beginning of round 2 will be enough to do the Avs in. If Edm gets eliminated in Round 1, and the Avs in Round 2, that will make for the easiest possible path to the cup for the Flames.

Bennett is fine for what he's being paid to do. There's just a lot of hyperbole on both sides of the spectrum in this thread. The naysayers are way too discrediting of what he's doing, and the handwringers are way too positive to what he can provide.
