The whole point of putting tariffs on imported goods is to make it more expensive and push companies to buy the previously more expensive local alternative. In Trump's mind, this is good because it will create jobs. But in reality, there are a ton of stuff they can't produce domestically, so either way, everyone pays the price, and the government gets to take in more taxes.
Now, if they use those tariff dollars towards more spending on healthcare, public services, etc, if I were an American citizen, maybe I can buy that. But we all know this money is going to mysteriously disappear or get absorbed into more military spending, or some other dick measuring thing the Trump loves to fund, or he'll cut more corporate taxes like usual. Heck, maybe they'll finally have an all out military parade that he's been wanting since his first term.

|
Because they would need to pay 25% of the final price. If they raise their price to $125 then they need to pay $125x25%=$31.25 so they end up with less than their original $100. If they raise it to $133 then 25% of that is $33 so they are left with the original $100.
It’s the same issue where it takes a larger % gain in the stock market to make up a smaller % loss, since the smaller % loss is on a larger amount.
Anyway, this is all hypothetical unless Trump actually comes out and says producers must pay.

Give Trump credit for this, he knows how to throw his cult the red meat they crave. Great distraction while he guts departments they need.

When talking about Mel Gibson you need to include that he is a racist, antisemite, homophobic, domestic abusing, tax evading, and health sham promoter... who has put out many flops in a row.
The only thing he serves to do is to make people realize that there are worse people than Donald Trump.

And worse. Gibson is scum but not on Trump’s level. Partly because Trump is in a position to do far more harm.

I realized that Mel Gibson was a pretty disgusting person after the audio of him threatening to kill his wife and bury her in the rose garden and telling her if she got raped by a pack of n-words that it was her fault.
Then I realized he was a complete loon when he claimed 2 of his friends cured themselves of stage 4 cancer with medications meant to treat worm infestations. Was a good reminder of what a pice of garbage Rogan is as well, complete nutjobs.

The overt anti-semitism of Gibson is enough of a disqualifier for me. You add that to his extreme zealotry over Christianity, and it's the type of person that would love to round people up and punish them. Don't forget, his last big success was producing Passion of the Christ. These "passion plays" were historically instigators of violence against Jews as they were the "killers of Christ", played out with so much gore I could only describe it as a snuff film. He's planning on a Passion of the Christ 2 right now...
Just a thoroughly disgusting human being. Of course he's Trump's buddy.

I'm thinking he resurrects and then the rest is something akin to a Rambo film? He straps on some ammo belts, gets some grenades and machine guns and comes for revenge.
Pontius Pilate has no idea whats coming for him...
And dont for one second tell me you wouldn't watch that film.
It'll be called..."Passion of the Christ II: Revenge of the Christ"
Yes...Jesus walking across the Sea of Galilea just emptying Uzi clips...oh yeah.
He gets to Pilate at the end and kills him, then resurrects him and kills him again!

I would imagine Jesus returns as Hitler and WWII ends with the Final Solution being achieved.

To me, it also is sending a message as far as international relations go and how the incoming administration is going to deal with conflicts like in the Middle East right now and where it’s support lies.

The best would be:
Opening Credits....
"Based on a True Story."
Hmmm...not gonna lie, I have some reservations concerning that claim...

I would think "Based on Mel's Greatest Wet Dream" would be more appropriate. It would be like his version of Inglorious Basterds.
