On the NHL stats page, I looked at points/60 for players who have played at least 10 games this season.
Connor is at 124.
Drai is at 163.
#1 is McKinnon

The guy we picked up on waivers yesterday has the same stat line as the Oilers big summer signing. Beecher has 1 goal in 6 games played. Trent Frederic has 1 goal, however he has played 21 games. Bet McTempertantrum is glad all the money he saved the Oilers went to pay this pylon.

My answer is yes. Nurse doesn't waive though so...
|
Absolutely not, Andersson is somewhat worthwhile. Nurse is not, he's paid 9.25 a year, I think he has 5 years left, its a no movement clause, and that contract is buy out proof and it goes until he's 35.
If I was to do that it would be
To Oilers
Andersson
To Calgary
Nurse
This years 2nd
2027 first unprotected
2928 first protected
And a massive, we can save you about 5 million in cap space and take that lump off of your hands but this is a take it or F you deal.
Oh and I need a punt returner so give us Savoie because I godamn feel like it you pancake eating ############

In what universe does Conroy do *anything* that even vaguely looks like “help” for the Greasers? (Didn’t he already say in an interview a year ago that would never happen?)

Loving how bad they are (but not bad enough to be a lottery threat)
Draisaitl starting his decline, depth worse than ever, 3/4 of the defense core useless and goalies no better.
If only McUnderpaid phoned it in. He's singlehandedly dragging them along to a .500 record. Imagine if he regressed, sustained a freak injury or just threw up his arms. It would be game over for the so called cup favorites.

I look at it the other way in that getting unprotected future firsts from teams with bad outlooks can supercharge a rebuild. It could be the difference between having Mackinnon, Landeskog and Rantanen with or without a Makar. They would be helping us.
I honestly see the oilers as being beyond help at this point, so I am not really worried about what they do with extra cap space. They will just sign some guy to an even worse contract for longer and handicap themselves even more.
Anyhow, I want that pick and there's simply no painless way to make it happen. People can throw out all of these lopsided proposals, but it gets to be silly.

Unprotected future 1sts from that team would be worth making them marginally better short term for.
Those will be some good, good picks.
I do not want Nurse here though lol.

Paul Coffey was once suspended as a coach in the GTHL for an altercation with another coach where he used "discriminatory slurs".
https://thehockeynews.com/news/news/...iminatory-slur
I can just imagine how foul mouthed he is at the professional level.

The Oilers have been excellent so far this season, IMO.
Excellent at being NO GOOD!

So, the "bottom of the barrel" Flames currently have more regulation wins than the "Stanley Cup Conna-tenders" Oilers...

Finally got their 5th regulation win... The Flames, that is.
The Oilers are still waiting.

They are only ahead because of the 5 wins in the 3on3 scrimmage. They don't even have a shootout win.

Deceptive tonight. The goals were all point blank shots.
I also just noticed that they have given up the most goals against in the league, too funny.
