With all the underperformance by the Jays, tough schedule, the Jays start the day in a wild card playoff spot.

Funny thing is, if the playoffs started today the Jays would play the Twins in a wild card show down. (the yankees and orioles would have to face each other lol)

All is not lost lol

I do get the frustration from fans. Jays are supposed to be at the peak of their competitive window, instead they are barely squeaking by battling for wild card glory haha

I'd feel much better myself if they were about where Baltimore is in the standings right now, which is where they should be if Manoah, Vlad and Kirk were much closer to combined projections.

It’s also not just this half season

Underachieving has become a trend for this team the past few years

The Jays also have the 2nd or 3rd longest streak without a playoff victory

They are basically maxed out on salary , have few impact prospects coming up , and are potentially 2.5 years away from losing their 2 best players and faces of the franchise

And they haven’t won a playoff game yet

There is no way the Jays have the 2nd or 3rd longest streak without a playoff victory.

At least 10 teams haven't won or even played a playoff game since them.

It’s fun to cheer for Kikuchi. I almost feel like I’m on the mound with him cheering him on.

Speaking of fun…George!!!

The Jays last won a playoff game on Oct 18, 2016 in the ALCS.

The Tigers and Angels last made the playoffs in 2014. The Pirates and Royals last made the playoffs in 2015. Baltimore and Texas last made in 2016, both beaten by Toronto. So the Jays have the 7th longest drought.

Dan is able to cover up so many of Buck’s warts. He truly is a master of his craft.

For all we complain about the broadcasters, sometimes it’s nice to have a traditional old guy in place. Even as they age they still have a timeless voice. Viewers should accept the warts that come with aging.

For a sport like baseball where there is a bunch of down time (less than years before though), I would prefer a guy who had insight to fill that time than a guy with a timeless voice. For a high speed event with lots of ups and downs like hockey, the voice has much more impact…in my opinion.
