Limited upside reinforced by underwhelming production in the AHL
Received more hype than he deserved when he got a hatty in his first NHL game. That's not the type of player he is.
Won't be a producer or line driver at the NHL level - more of a bottom 6 forward. Ceiling is a shut-down 3rd line centre with a touch of pop.
Nothing to sneeze at but not an impact player. Probably their 4th or 5th best prospect behind Primeau, Romanov, Caulfield and maybe one more that I can't think of.

27 gp and 2 points this year. Not a great AHL year either. But I recall he had a serious injury to deal with as well.
His 1st nhl game ever hatrick may have been last game of the year smoke and mirrors.

Poehling = Jankowski with worse offensive stats. The comparisons were even made at the draft.

Thanks all for the Poehling update.
I did recall the hat trick, and in no way thought that he was destined to be a huge scorer, but I did think he was better regarded. Ouch on the Jankowski comp.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Exactly what the Flames need, a worse version of Jankowski

"According to sources close to the Flames, they held talks with the Leafs regarding Andersen, and are willing to include David Rittich, Sam Bennett and this year's 1st-round pick."

Jesus Christ, that would be horrible
But that article is full of factual inaccuracies and conjecture so I have heavy doubts about it on all fronts

Not a chance that's the return the Leafs would get.

lol the Leafs got Andersen when he was only 26 and a proven starter with YEARS of control left for a late 1st and a 2nd.
But the Flames will pay more than that now when he's 30 and only one year before UFA?
Haha

Now that Dubas has made one decent trade it is time for a flood of lopsided Toronto rumours lol.

Woof on the Toronto trade. I'm all for trading Rittich but not cool at all for trading any of the next 3 years 1sts or more passionately trading Sam Bennett. No way no sir no how.

I am not a fan of the Habs-Gaudreau speculation and if there is any truth to it I would think it has to be the 16th pick as part of the return.
I like Domi he is still young and would probably be someone you can sign for 5.5x6 and he can play center or wing and brings some grit. He is really only a 18 goal 40pt guy for the most part and definitely weakens the teams scoring ability. More money would have to be shed but they would likely need to pursue Taylor Hall in order to replace Johnny’s offense.
Treliving/Maloney know Domi and drafted him. At the end of the day I think this is as fake as the Couturier rumor so hopefully not going to happen
