Bad example. Pretty much everybody has a problem with Carapazza. The Rangers were more upset with him than the Jays after that ALDS game, in fact.

As poorly as Carapazza called that game on the weekend, I have to agree with the suspension. The hard and fast rule that you cannot make contact with an umpire is a good one, and needs to be continually enforced.
That said, his strike zone was huge that whole game, and must have been ultra frustrating to deal with in general. It did seem that the Jays were caught more often than the Indians, but as the commentators pointed out, maybe the Indians pitchers were just exploiting that more.
I think we see "robot umpires" for the strike zone in the next decade. Almost every team has their broadcast with some sort of real time measurement of the ball in the strike zone, so it's not like the game would be slowed down. It would also remove a lot of the animosity that seems to build up in some games due to poor calls seemingly going one way or another. If they've embraced video replay in order to "get the call right" (notice the quotes there), I would find it hard to argue against robot umps for the strike zone to make sure they get the call right there too.

Credit where credit is due, what a throw to gun EE out at home. Would have been 2-0 Jays.

Looked like Saunders checked his swing there but third base umpire thought otherwise.
This game is absolutely flying by. The game started 90 minutes ago and we are already in the 7th inning.

Not to toot my own horn, but so far Sanchez is making me look like a smart man!

I'm admittedly pretty bullish on Sanchez but we've all seen his stuff...it's otherworldly. Before he went down to injury last year he seemed to have put it together for about 5 straight starts where he looked in control and wasn't walking near as many hitters.
His Spring stats are very impressive with only 3 BB allowed so far. If he can continue to limit the base on balls there is very little in the way of him becoming a front line pitcher for the Jays in the near future, IMO.
I love Stroman, and his repertoire is incredible as well, but Sanchez has Halladay-esque stuff if he could only put it together. I think if given the chance this year, he would run with the opportunity to be a starter.

Not many guys have a fastball with that much speed and movement.

Amazing 1 2 punch with have with Sanchez and Estrada right now.
Now Tulo has seemingly turned the corner(no jinx) I will accept praise for my Tulove this season.
