Kerr would never admit to posting on CP, he probably just lurks.

I've heard him say "hockey puck blog" once, the closest he'd ever come to referencing us (that I've heard).

Why does that guy continue to deny? I've heard CP mentioned a half dozen times on fan960 over the years, and I rarely listen to them. Well, I listen to Rome and to hockey, but rarely to the afternoon show.
So Kerr is either lying/pretending, or else he's too stupid to come to one of the best sources for info and opinions. His job is to be in the know about sports, and here in Calgary, that means the Flames. I really don't understand why he refuses to come here or admit that he comes here.

I think Kerr doesn't like CP because IMO he feels it takes away from "real" journalism.

Also, it drives him absolutely crazy that some things on CP can easily get out of hand. Basically, he reads us, finds the stupidest post and then just assumes that everyone on the internet is this way.

I remember one specific incident towards the end of the season where someone on CP said they thought the Flames were going to have a press conference or something and it kind of snowballed and soon people were calling the fan asking when the PC was. Rob kind of flipped out and blamed these idiots not being able to read on CP. It isn't our fault that some people take what is clearly a rumour/opinion and start thinking it was true.

I think it was about potentially firing Keenan or something.

I don't know who Rob Kerr is but when it comes to the hockey media, most of them aren't "real" journalists to begin with. They're hacks who got their break by knowing someone.

Guy on the Fan 960.

If you've seen the Flames PPV broadcasts he has done the PBP last year and this year.

He used to do Overtime on the Fan after Flames games (post game call in show). He was pretty angry towards the end of his tenure. Had no patience for callers and was usually a jerk to people.

I like him in the afternoons with Boomer.


On a related note. A day or two after we had the discussion in this thread about Dohboy, the Rob and Boomer (I think, it might have been Steingburg) totally ripped on Dohboy for always being a shiznat disturber. It was pretty funny because I was totally thinking they should watch out or he might sue them for slander.

They were joking. Dohboy comes on the FAN960 all the time.

Maybe they were, but it didn't entirely seem like it. If they were it was certainly true in my mind.

At the risk of diverting the thread more, I'm sure they like Bruce just fine. May not agree with all his columns, but I'm sure they like him on a personal level. The exchange in question I think was more tongue in cheek. Then again, I could be wrong considering the heat I've taken on occasion for being pro Bruce on occasion.

I find it interesting that the guy refuses to embrace messageboards as a way to expand your thoughts and opinions on topics taht he's paid to be knowledgable on.
I mean, he's got access to way more than I ever will, so I know it's not like he needs to come here to get informed, just odd that he doesn't want to be informed on when the masses are saying.
Sorta like a politician that doesn't want to be informed on what are hot button issues are for his constituents.
