Hitmen hammered the Raiders tonight. I originally bought season tix just to get a shot at World Juniors tickets, but am really starting to enjoy Hitmen games. There's no lineup to get nachos

Martin Jones set the franchise record for shutouts with his 14th career shutout tonight. One more than Justin Pogge.

I should add that with the win, the Hitmen have clinched the central division title yet again and can finish no lower than 2nd in the East.

That was quite the game too. Especially funny wathing Thompson (who always sucks) and Theissen (who is usually better) officiate the game like they were reffing a 10PM start in a beer league, didn't want to be there, and chose to take it out on the players.

Saskatoon is starting to slide as well. We're 1pt up on Brandon now, with a game in hand, and two up on both Saskatoon and Tri-City with even games played.

Brandon has a cream puff schedule to end the season though.

Brandon: vs Moose Jaw, @ PA, vs Moose Jaw, @ Regina, vs Regina
Saskatoon: @ Edmonton, @ Calgary, vs Moose Jaw, vs Regina, vs PA, @ PA

Calgary: vs Swift Current, @Kootenay, vs Saskatoon, @ Edmonton, vs Edmonton, vs Red Deer

Tri-City: @Chilliwack, @Portland, @Seattle, vs Seattle, @Spokane, vs Spokane

If you cannot make the Hitmen game tonight, I believe it is on sportsnet west.

I see Brandon's opponent ended up on the wrong side of a very lopsided penalty total again last night. Those East Division refs sure do bend over backwards for the Wheat Kings.

The Hitmen are beating up on the Ice tonight in Cranbrook, 4-0. Kris Foucault, who has really started to play well, has the hat trick.

Good to see. We needed that win to keep the pressure on the other contenders for top spot.

Especially nice to see Foucault have a good game, as I've found him rather useless as of late. He and Nyren seem to be turnover machines lately.

And Martin Jones is some kinda hot right now.

Well, that was a nice ole beating on national TV. Glad our powerplay destroyed them, because Saskatoon had some pretty good jump to start.

Magic number to win the regular season title is 1, and with two games left vs. Edmonton, that seems a virtual certainty.

Yes they have been dominant recently. Today was a laugher. The only thing that really gets me about Hitmen games these days is the other fans there. It seems every game there's a different chick or group of them sitting a few rows behind who won't shut up. Every two seconds it's "Broda why did you do that? Pass next time!" "Great save Marty" (on a dump in) or "just leave him alone!" when Burgart wanted to fight someone (i tink it was him anyway). So annoying. Me and the gf, and the couple behind us who are also STH's, made fun of them constantly today so they finally moved in the 3rd period. Also to the people who bring cowbells - this isn't bobsledding. Sheesh.

Does Edmonton ever beat Calgary in anything? Two more home games left in the season then it's playoffs!

Shame the Cougars are so awful (13 game losing streak), cause it would have been funny to see every team associated with the Oilers finish last in their league.

Hitmen win over the Edmonton Oil Kings to lock up first in the WHL. The game appeared over by the end of the first period.

Looking forward to the playoffs. This years team is not the dominant force that last years appeared to be. However very consistent hockey for the last 20 games should bode well for the post season.

Locking up first was huge. Prevents us from facing Sasktoon/Brandon in the second round. Hopefully being less dominant pays off in the post season this year. Sweeping the first three series was fun last year, but a challenge before then would help.

Eberle scored his 50th of the season last night. Good way for him to end his junior career. If Parker had knew anything he would have traded him to a contender at the deadline.

No kidding. Guess they hoped he could get them into the playoffs.

That Red Deer - Saskatoon matchup could be interesting.

Hoping Kozun has a big day today. He needs three points to tie Eberley for the Bob Clarke Trophy, and four to win outright.

The Hitmen are laying the boots to the Rebels in the season finale. 6-0 with 5 minutes left in the 2nd period. Brandon Kozun has 3 assists so far and has tied Eberle for the WHL's scoring lead.

The game is on shaw.

Make it 7-0, Kozie will win the scoring race. He just picked up another assist.

Edit: 7-1.
