I don't have the game yet, but can I just mention how much I appreciate the fact that there is a hardcore and regular mode? So many online shooters are ruined for me because either the hit damage is too weak. I love being able to choose.

I only play hardcore.

Like was posted before, efffing annoying having to hit a guy with 10 bullets in the torso to drop him.

I like playing for the three shots, centre mass.

If you can't drop a guy with an assault riffle with three to the chest, the game isn't worth playing IMO.

I think it's just choosing which games you want to join online. The hardcore ones are near the bottom... and are hardcore.

All I played in MW1 was hardcore mode, I hated normal. But in MW2 it is the opposite. I hate playing Hardcore, I don't know why but I am terrible at it and I find it a lot different than the original MW hardcore mode.

I should probably learn to play hardcore though, especially with a SCAR which has 20 bullet mag's, shooting an entire mag into someone to kill them is not only annoying, but I run out of bullets almost every life I have.

whats worse when you play core if you shoot someone in the chest with a .50 cal it's like they were stung by a bee.

I'm just a casual gamer and I don't put too much stock into the K/D ratio but it felt good to get my first harrier strike last night

As a PC gamer - I'm finding a lot more guys using the aim bots to cheat in hardcore than regular. The absence of the kill cam in hardcore is the main reason the hackers are playing those games.

Makes me angry because when IW dropped the dedicated servers they promised they'd make it tough for cheaters - they haven't done a thing. With dedicated servers - mods would monitor for cheaters and perm ban IPs - much better system.

I have been playing a lot of Ground War (i think that is the one).

It is split between Domination and Team Deathmatch. The teams are huge and you get points for securing positions and defending them and such. Also I have been getting a lot of kills because camping is necessary to hold on to the positions.

I'm still only about a 25-30 though. I feel like I'm so far behind because I just got the game for Christmas and pretty much everyone is like 50 or higher.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you. Same levels (a little lower) and I just play Ground war. Good mix between games. I prefer Domination but it's nice to mix it up with Deathmatch once in a while. The problem with Deathmatch is I'm not very good a killing people so I suck more.

Just picked it up from FanIn80! Pretty damn excited to get killing again. You know what else? Modern Warfare with controller rumble (i'm on ps3) ... I haven't played a good COD game with rumble since COD2 on my old roomates 360.

I feel like I should have made an account to play multiplayer on before I played with my main gamertag. If I did to that my k/d would be SO much higher than it is now. For the first week I just ran around and didn't know any of the maps, and had something like 500 kills 1500 deaths, which made it a huge pain to get a respectable k/d ratio.

I dont pay attention to K/D ratio. People still boost and they suck in the regular game. Me and two of my buddies always get stuck with a bunch of tools that are 4th prestiges and we wax them every time. my K/D is only 1.25 or something like that

Apologies if anyone got annoyed playing on Xbox Live last night. I was running around with the grenade launcher attachment, trying to get the 20 kills needed to unlock the shotgun attachment for my SCAR-H

I'm not a big fan of this unlocking weapons thing. It really sucks for the crappier people like me who have to use crappy guns and hope to pick up a good weapon. It'll be a damn near miracle for me to get enough kills to unlock crazy things. Just make it an even playing field where the pros don't have a greater advantage.

It doesn't really work that way. Guns unlock when you rise in level. Even if you get 1 kill per match, the game still gives you points for a whole bunch of different things. Also, the more you use a gun, the more attachments you unlock that make it better. Just because someone is using a gun that you only become available at lvl 40, doesn't make it immediately better than a low level gun that has attachments to it (ie a red dot sight)
My advice, find a weapon that you are really comfortable with, and keep using it. With every kill, it gets closer to unlocking an assortments of gadgets for it that will make things easier.
The game has a steep learning curve and it can be frustrating at first, but after awhile, you will learn the maps and where people tend to fight. You'll get better.

its so hard to get some of the kill streaks and stuff like the harrier is shot down so easy..... the sentry gun just has to be stabbed once

I also get mad that the UAV jammer can jam a UAV ... however if it trumps the current UAV ... then the next UAV should knock the jammer offline.
