Bouma cuts the lead to two. As long as it's him doing the scoring, I don't mind Vancouver winning some games.

Kelowna wins Game 1. Didn`t see all of the game but Backlund looks like he had a good game with 1 goal and 2 assists in a 4-2 win.

Fan of Calgary, fan of Brandon, it doesn't matter, you want the Giants in the final. Kelowna is a much, much more dangerous team at this point.

Just got back from the game and I have quite a bit to say.
Backlund with a nice swift move right to left and nice wrister glove-side which froze Sexsmith.
Stupid, stupid turnovers(Ross especially) that cost the Giants the second goal which Sexsmith should of stopped.
3rd goal was all Backlund forechecking with a nice pass to his teammate.
Giants only showed up in the 3rd period and it showed when they started scoring goals. The Giants can play with the Rockets, its just putting in the effort. Guggenbacher or whatever his name is can be scored on.
Kane could of scored but he rushed it. Him and Zabotel looked invisible out there.
Yucky game.

Giants had a great first ten minutes. Then they fell asleep until the beginning of the third.
Backlund: can skate better than anybody else on the ice without even looking like he's trying. The first goal, and his assist were key examples of that.
I still think Kelowna takes it in 6.

Down 2-0 and 3-1, the Hitmen rally to win 5-4 in game 2.
Clutch win!

Dave Lowry needs to get behind the Flames bench and work his magic on the Calgary Flames

Just got home from the game. Great comeback by the Hitmen.
Aulie got a nice goal. He's freaking huge (6'6", 222lbs and not quite 20 years old). Can't wait to see him on the Flames blue line. Players might start praying for the Tunnel of Death after he shows up.

That is one of those killers for Brandon. They were up 2-0 halfway though, and Calgary couldn't get anything going. But as soon as we got that one, the Hitmen just became an entirely different team. Though the Wheat Kings might have pulled it out when they got that PPG in the third, but a fantastic deflection by Schultz tied it right away, then a great down low play between Broda and Sonne to put it away.
Hitmen have got to get better though. Too many mistakes today, and it led directly to Brandon's third and fourth goals. Mistakes we don't often make.
And, yet another franchise record. 10th straight playoff win.

It was an ugly, ugly game by the Hitmen. Several turnovers in their own zone, just real basic clearing issues, and for much of the game they didn't skate at full speed like they normally do. Marty Jones didn't have a good game either but he was better than Hayes, who will end up being one of the big differences between these 2 teams, he is awful. I guess the good news is, if that is Brandon's best effort then they are in trouble because for the most part it was a sub par performance from the Hitmen but they still managed to win.

Well that just about does it for Brandon. If the higher seeded team has a terrible game like that you have to take advantage.
It will be interesting to see what Brandon does next year in net as Hayes obviously is not close to the answer for them there.

The first half issues for the Hitmen was twofold - Calgary just couldn't pass to save their lives. It looked like they were the Flames out there in the wrong jerseys. And Brandon played a really aggressive forecheck, so that when we did complete a pass, someone was there. That 2-0/3-1 lead evaporated when Calgary found its passing game, and Brandon's forecheck became neutered somewhat.

The Giants have blown a 3-1 third period lead to the Rockets and it is now 3-3 with about 2 minutes left in regulation.

I believe Backlund takes a penalty as time expires.

In case anyone cares, I didn't want to start a whole new thread but:
OHL:
London Knights vs. Windsor Spitfires
-Windsor leads the series 2-1, all 3 games have gone into overtime, Windsor winning game 1 in overtime and game 3 in overtime
Bellville Bulls vs. Brampton Battalion
-Brampton leads the series 2-1, Brampton won the first 2, Bellville the third game.
QMJHL:
Shawinigin Cataractes Vs. Quebec Remparts
Series tied 1-1
Rimouski Oceanic vs. Drummondville Voltigeurs
Drummondville leads the series 2-0
Edit: Ya well some of us don't live in Calgary or have Shaw Jiri, lol, I wish I could watch it though

The winner of the London-Windsor series should come out of the OHL. What a great matchup that is. Too bad that is not for the OHL championship.
