Can we still join Shawnski's league? That'd be my first choice... or pretty much anything he endorses because I'd rather not join blindly.
I am just in the thick of things at school, that is why I can't be more available. It should start to get a little lighter for me in a few weeks, I HOPE!

Lets just divide it up then. REDVAN could join and manage the weeknight/north team and one of us(or a few for that matter) can manage the Optimist league.
Have deposits been made yet?

I agree with the Junky. South team at Optimist (we already have a verbal commitment). How much is deposit? North team in Shawnski's. We all can help with administration.
Soon - Spring Training. Then, the calgarypuck World Series, North vs. South for cp bragging rights!
Does OilFans have a softball team?

South: Are we meeting up still? Or sending money to someone?

Sorry, sleep at the switch.
Yes, Sportsjunky if you could go to NSA Big League Sports (near JC park) will get you exact address in a sentence or two; and pay the 125 deposit that would be great. Then we (the SW team) will work it out. We need to get together and gather money soon though, as the league fees (50%) are due in a week or so. I am still up for Tuesday if a few people can come out and collect some money. I propose Pete's Peanut Pub again, if no one has a better suggestion (Flames undefeated there) If you are on SW team and cannot make that, let's try to organize getting that money in one place so someone can pay. I don't mind picking up if I have too, we just need to get it doen before March 6th (1st league meeting)

The contact is usually Wanda, however she seems to be away alot.
Terry is the guy who gave me the verbal committment that we'd be in.
They pressed for a team name, under pressure I asked if we could go with "CPers" on a temporary basis. They also needed two contact names and phones numbers, so I gave them mine and tROUTMAN'S. They were the only ones I knew both name and number.
Will read back over the last page or two and see what I have missed this weekend.

Yeah, playing Oiler fans in a game that involves a heavy wooden bat in my hand? Not sure I could resist the temptation to take the bat with me when I run the base paths.

We'll be charging the mound after every inside pitch.

I can probably do Tuesday, I'm always up for a couple of beers and wild, baseless conjecture.

Can't make the bar on Tuesday, I'll have to make arrangements to get the deposit out some other way.

Groovy. I'll take care of the deposit this afternoon.
As far as meeting Tuesday - I'm probably unavailable but I'll try to get there.
Aeneas: just spoke with Wanda by phone and she says no sweat on team name - we just need to let them know (probably by first league meeting) fairly soon.

You listed Anywhere in preference of area to play. I believe I PM'd you with what was going on.
If you want to spare, great, we have two teams you could spare for. That's a great benefit to having two teams that do not play the same day, we could spare for each other. Hell, some person(s) could play on both teams if they want.

yes... i am still interested in subbing, but I am not that good so the 2nd option with the more serious teams kinda scared me off a little.

Unless I'm completely misreading this thing, I don't think the south team is any more serious about this than the north team. We are in a more "serious" league but I'm pretty sure we are mostly there for shiggles and maybe a little exercise/beer drinking. At least I hope so.
