And you have every right to be. This German team impressed me so much with their play and team spirit. I've always been somewhat of a fan of Klinnsman too, from his Spurs days, even though I'm a die-hard Liverpool fan.
I have to admit once England were booted I was rooting for the German team. Shame that they went out. Happy that they beat the Portugese though!!!!!

I thought Germany played great yesterday. (I only saw the 2nd half) There was no diving, and ample opportunity to do so. Actually, about 6 minutes into the 2nd half, the german guy was streaking down the field, nearing an opportunity to score, the portugese defender got his leg under the german, the german stumbled, but made a great effort to stay up.
If that were an italian, he'd have gone down like a rock.
That header goal by the portugese was frikkin sweet. And the first german goal? Did you see that there was NO spinning (the ball). That shot was a rocket. He got everything on that.
And the near goal by the germans when the one guy popped it wayyy up and then the other guy one-times it right out of mid air... Man, if it wasn't for the diving in this sport, it'd be my second favorite.
I really wish the italians would clean up their act.
Oh, one more thing. That free kick awarded to portugal was bull-puckey. But you already knew that.
FORZA ITALIA!

I was talking about germania....
Holy horse-humpin christ! Circo Massimo is already half full. (a couple hours ago). Three big screens, thousands of fans waving flags and playiong football. Each screen has a humongous stereo and is pumping tunes. Insanity tonight, folks. I took a few pics and will take a bunch more tonight.
This is going to be absolutely insane.....
ITALIA!

Glad the Germans got third. They had such a good team this year, and lost to Italy in such a hard way. Nice that they salvaged something.
I've never like a German team before this year, but these guys really won my respect. A great team with a lot of young talent. Should be a force for years to come.

He has awesome skill but has to resort to pathetic attempts to cheat like that. FIFA, if they had any balls, should severely sanction him for that if they really wanted to clean up the diving as they say they do.
Thanks for posting it, Fotze.
Pity that fans in England likely won't get the chance to boo that sucker.

Lucky I get Univision here - I only know a little Spanish but I don't have to listen to Musberger who sounds like he's announcing a funeral instead of the championship match.

LOL, anyone else watching CTV? The commentators were talking about how players have to make 100s of decisions during a game, then he came up with this beauty:
"The mind of a footballer is like a pentium processor"

Never seen anything like that before. In seemingly cold blood. Just bam. Headbutt.

What a selfish, stupid thing to do. I can't think of a more idiotic move in all of sports. His career is going to be forever remembered for his one stupid act.

I cannot believe a player of the stature of ZZ would do something so blatantly stupid. What a crying shame for a player to go out of the world stage like that BUT he only has himself to blame. Nothing excuses that behaviour.

Wow. Can't believe Zidane. Kudos to the off field official for getting the right info to the on field official.

True. But, there is no way a head butt would knock you off your feet.
Too bad it had to go to penalties. That seemed to be Italy's strategy from at least the 70 minute mark. France was the only team pushing for a regulation goal, even after they were down to 10 men. Too bad Zidane did not score on that header, and too bad he delivered the selfish coco-butt. I could see why he was frustrated, but that was a stupid thing to do.
Congratulations to Italy.
