So thats Amorim's secret! Manchester United just need to play with more players than their opposition.
That seems easy enough.

Maresca subbing off Palmer after 20 minutes is pretty crazy. He looked PISSED.
EDIT: might have been a knock, who knows.

Gotta be a record for subs in the first 20 of a match. Red cards like Sanchez's make me wonder what kind of situational awareness these guys have. Do that with five minutes left, sure, but with basically the full 90 to go? Insanity.

I like this Ekitike fella and apparently Everton fielded an entire boarding school? I've never heard of Dewsbury Hall but I'm sure its a fine Dorm.
Oh. And Manchester United participated in a complete disaster of a match but managed to scrabble together a few points.

I know they won, but I didn’t think Liverpool looked all that good.
Spurs battled back for the draw. Maybe not a fantastic result, but some bright spots and to get even after being down two was good. I feel like the mentality there is changing, because down 2 last year would’ve send them fold up the tent.

Was hoping the early goal would open this thing up a bit, but another big six match-up being a slog so far.

depending on the narrative, you could call this progress or frustrating af. It's good to see them get chances, but if you can't hit a barn door ...

Leoni, a £26 million ($35m) signing from Parma, hurt himself in a tackle late in the 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Southampton and the fear is he has sustained a significant anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury which will result in a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

ridiculous use of VAR again. I think Fernandes had to wait 5 minutes to take the penalty there ... VAR took its sweet time (and, of course, came to the wrong conclusion because that has to be a red card there) and then Brentford is allowed to make two subs (and waste time) before the penalty as well. That doesn't excuse the poor penalty, but still, ridiculous all around.
United deserve to lose this though. Amorims personnel decisions questionable again, and in terms of the performance, it's just not enough. Not enough intensity, not enough quality.

Liverpool will probably pull this out in the end, but another dreadful looking half. Getting close to passing the threshold between them "showing heart and guts" in grinding out wins, and them maybe not being that good.

Is this the worst looking undefeated team of all time?
CP could’ve easily been up 4-0 on Liverpool if they had any kind of luck. Their counter attack is fantastic.

I think that was Liverpools worst ever half under Slot, very lucky to only down one

Adding Isak adds yet another degree of chemistry issues that won’t get sorted out for a bit. It’s pretty clear they’re missing Diaz (who I felt was a great LW) on the other side of Salah. Losing TAA also hurt too, but Szoboszlai is doing a fine job taking that spot.
I really wish we had a better CB than Konate in the back. Dude scares me.
