Refs need to get control of this game as the Broncos are laying dirty hits all over the ice.

2-2 after 2 periods. Tigers do have 1 PP goal on 5 powerplays, but the powerplay overall has struggled tonight.

Harrison saves a breakaway at one end, Tigers take the puck on a 3-on-2 and McKenna tickles the twine. 3-2 good guys.

We need overtime as the Broncos score late in period 3 to tie the game 3-3

Edit: Hunter St. Martin comes out of the box, gets fed a breakaway pass and makes no mistake. Tigers win 4-3 and take a 3-1 series lead.

Hitmen sweep the Blades who were not close in this series which is not a surprise. Hopefully some of these other Eastern series extend a it to give the Hitmen a chance to heal any injuries.

Tigers have scored 18 goals in this series and McKenna has points on 14 of them

Yeah, that was a cake walk. Losing the last game of the year actually gave the Hitmen an easier match up in round 1.

i don't think they factored much in the scoring tonight, but I thought the Ruck boys along with Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll had an excellent game tonight.

They play so well sometimes you forget that collectively they are the youngest line in the league. Going to be a force the next few years

Edmonton up 3-1 over PA
Lethbridge up 3-1 over Brandon
Med Hat up 3-1 over Swift
Calgary wins 4-0 over S'toon

We'll see if the central teams can close these all out.

Which would set up Calgary v Lethbridge in round 2? Time for big boy hockey.

Tigers need to wrap this up in game 5 back at CO-OP Place, I thought that Harrison had a nice game between the pipes in game 4, but Reid Dyck almost stole it for Speedy Creek with his 44 save performance.

He's just going to have to try harder and play smarter.

If I recall correctly, Rookes was the guy who took the dumb penalty that kickstarted the Tigers comeback in game 4.

No surprise with Calgary, Med Hat and Lethbridge all punching their tickets to the 2nd round in short order. Now we wait to see who faces who as the Raiders beat Edmonton to push that series to 6 games.

I knew Everett lost Bear to injury, but I hadn't realized they also lost Dupont and MacKenzie as well. Tough losses for them.

They aren't messing around tonight though, pummeling Seattle 5-1 in the 3rd.

Victoria has also advanced to round 2, another team that loaded up at the deadline.

PG looks like they'll force a 7th game vs Portland

I used to go to at least 80% of the Hurricanes home games but coaching my kids kept me from going to many over the past several years. Today was my first one all year, coming 366 days after I went to my lone game last year.

WHL is very frustrating to watch now. I don't remember officiating being so poor. Those kids though... when did they get to be so young? I remember when they were all older than me.

So the first 2nd round match up is now set, Hitmen vs Hurricanes.

This should be a doozy.

I'm going to pick Hurricanes in 6 or 7. They seem healthy for the most part, although Braillard didn't play last night and they added so many battle tested championship players this year that know what it takes to win and like 70% of their roster is made up of 19 and 20 year olds.
