The new coach bump in hockey is a very real thing. I feel like there is a lot of money to be made betting on a team for their first like ten games after they fire a coach

Haha Oil need a shootout to beat a team on a back to back with travel and playing their backup goalie.

If you turned the tables, the equivalent is Vegas at home beating the Oilers with Pickard in net after playing the night before. Doesn't seem like a particularly impressive feat right?
So painting the extra skills comp point after a late collapse a triumph would be pretty overblown, wouldn't it.
But you know they'll do it anyways.

McDavid’s goal last night is the reason he will never win a championship.
He turns the puck over in the offensive zone and the Knights break out. He is the last guy back by a mile, fastest guy in the league can’t get back on the backcheck. Must be exhausted on the end of a shift? Nope. Puck comes back to him on his own blueline and he is full of energy, breakaway and scores. Everyone is saying what a great goal.
He scored because he is lazy on defense and will sacrifice it for a chance at offense. Reminds me of a beer league guy skating slowly back and then when his team gets the puck is at the red line. Scores lots of points, won’t win a championship.
I hope the Oilers sign him long term, they deserve each other.

I saw that on a highlight last night, and was thinking "Yup, another McPoint for McCherryPick. Hate those guys."

Was gonna defend Logan Thompson as being a 1A instead of a true backup but nah.

Compared to Makar who skated coast to coast in order to join the rush for a solid chance against the Flames and then skate all the way back to position. Give me those players all day long.

Where's the red light district in Edmonton? Behind the Oilers' goal net.
