Disagree - the team they are rolling out next game is not on the level of Texas or Alabama

The selection committee actually got this right for once

Did you not watch the Championship game last year? That was fun.

Their stated goal is to put in the 4 best teams. I have yet to hear anyone say they haven't done it this time.

Really this should be a hell of a playoff.

They 100% did not put the 4 best teams in.

But that rarely is the goal or what they actually do.

I don't know, I don't like FSU being bumped because their QB is injured. 55 guys worked to have an undefeated season and now are out of the final 4 because they didn't want to have no SEC teams.

Does anyone think after watching FSU lately that they’d give any of the top four a run? They barely got by a bad Louisville team. Their best win was what three loss LSU? I don’t want teams rewarded for worse schedules. Bama and Texas had the balls to schedule each other and they shouldn’t be penalized for it. Michigan and Washington went undefeated in a much stronger conference than the ACC. Injuries matter and it’s clear this FSU is not that good. I’d rather have a good game then watch that pathetic offence again.

Makes no sense that FSU is 5th and Georgia is 6th if they are going to punish FSU for Travis being hurt. Georgia has opened as a 12 point favourite for the Orange Bowl. If the committee is going to say that FSU's perfect season was irrelevant they should have dropped them beyond 5.

Seems rather clear they respected the conference championship and just put the five winners top five. FSU as the worst of them is fifth.

Someone was going to get screwed, unless they wanted to add a play-in game between FSU and Bama (and its the NCAA, you'd think they'd be down for more money). Frankly the ACC should have called in a marker (aka transferred a few million to the Louisville football account) and had Louisville tank. If FSU crushed them like 45-0 then maybe it's tougher to leave them out for the committee. But they were horrific offensively, we also saw their doppelganger in Iowa get crushed hoping to defense a win. Michigan likely does the same to them.

Well next year there is 12 teams and while that 13th team will complain too I doubt anyone will care as much about it.

I don't think that FSU is one of the best teams but Georgia certainly is.

Seems rather clear that we aren't concerned with wins & losses anymore. Georgia and Ohio St should have finished ahead of FSU if we are playing by the new standard.

Of course not, but I said this earlier if the qualification criteria were defined so a spot can be earned and not selected this would never be an issue. We'd complain about the field being too big, or whatever, but the fact Florida State's season ended because of a freak injury and not because they lost a game is still kinda weak, even if as a fan I'm happier to not see them get in to lose by 35.

Basically impossible to do for 4 teams with unbalanced schedules.

I think if you had every team play each other in January Georgia goes undefeated. I think they beat Texas by double digits easily.

What new standard? It’s clear they’re not ranking by the best team because yes Georgia as a 29 game win streak team is yes better than some other teams in the top four. I don’t think they’re as dominant as the last two years teams though they had a lot of close games this year.

It is clear they put conference titles rather high on the list here. FSU won theirs but Georgia didn’t hence ranked higher. But also of the conference title teams it’s also clear FSU played the worst schedule and played the worst down the stretch.

They overcame injuries to go undefeated but are now being penalized for it.

Well I'm not sure what to base that on really. Georgia is good but head and shoulders above the other 4? I don't see it. They lost to the only one they played.

Texas being underrated. They are big time, this isn't TCU.
