I wouldn't touch Lipinski until the last couple rounds. He has some good assets, but he plays with no grit. He doesn't seem to want it bad enough.

Posting his opinions on the Flames, isn't that the point of this site?

He has a mature game and a good set of physical tools. The 6'4" frame is a bonus. He'll probably play at about 210 lbs.
I've seen some here speculate that he may play C .... no chance. He's strictly a winger, IMO.

Except that Draisaitl is going to be long gone by the time Hoznek plays.

Really? Knock on him was skating. By all reports has a good work ethic and doesn't shy away from the rough stuff.

Lipinski is playing some of, if not the best hockey of his WHL career recently, and even coach Michael Dyck agrees saying, “his confidence continues to build.” He is an easy player to root for, as it is clear he never takes a shift off and is willing to do what it takes to win. From his work on special teams to even-strength play, he has the potential to one day be an everyday NHLer.

My question is if you dislike everything the team does then what is the point of following the team? If you see everything to do with this organization as a negative what is the point? I am not being an ass here, I am trying to understand. If I felt miserable about something no matter what that something did I would want that something out of my life. I certainly would not spend my time every day dwelling on a message board about it.

Holy hell this thread is hilarious.

The insane and mostly uninformed overreactions are always a highlight of draft day.

He's a decent skater, long stride. He plays a smooth game. He's decent along the boards and in the corners, but for a big body, he gets owned far too easily.
Pass.

Flames website says he is Centre.
Hope he and Ruzicka become some middle Slovakian punch for few seasons.

You are projecting feeling miserable on other people. I can't speak for him but I imagine based on your comments you label me the same way and I can say Flames don't make me miserable. I was actually much more miserable in the days when I liked the team and direction and would get frustrated/angry when they didn't perform. Right now with the disconnect I feel no misery at all.

I currently see the direction of the team as negative, doesn't mean I think it will stay that way forever. I hope that it will change and look forward to when it does.

As I said in a different thread it is odd that fans, especially ones like yourself that think you are the super duper awesomest fans, suggest to people to quit being a fan of the team because they aren't doing well. Why anyone would support or suggest someone be a bandwagon fan is beyond me.

I enjoy talking about the Flames, I enjoy talking about the NHL and hockey in general, I am not sure why I have to be a homer to do so.

Well you are making a post about another poster about you. Go through that posters history and tell me where the positivity is.

Fwiw, I think the rankings systemically under-project guys who are playing outside of their country in their draft year. I know that sounds odd, but when someone is 17 years old and is adjusting to a new style of hockey, a new language, a new culture, is 1000s of miles away from home...it's plausible they don't play their best hockey because it's a huge adjustment that typically takes more than just one season.

So while some people see the ceiling as low...I actually think this player has a higher ceiling than what his stats might imply.

I feel like his weaknesses are things that can be developed and improved upon with work and time

While a lot of his strengths are things that are primarily inherent.

When you're looking picking players outside of the top tier of the draft who are generally less polished or have some caveat, this seems like a favorable outlook for a player.

His battle and toughness with his size can be trained.

His frame, speed, skill, edgework and puck protection ability can't.

Man, I want to see what Ruzicka really is/can be.

His leash was so short that we didn't get that opportunity at all last year.

Sutter is truly the least development-friendly coach.

Well I can't answer for them and many of the same accusations made about that poster have been said about me, I had thought by you but I will admit I often confuse you and Dino so that may be the case.

I wasn't trying to make it about me but give you some perspective to the post that you made in reply to me.

I am not sure why there has to be positivity in his post history. If he hasn't seen things that are positive should he just make it up?

Being a bandwagon fan is more understandable than calling yourself a fan while expressing nothing but negativity and disliking everything about the team.

People can do whatever they want but I genuinely don’t understand the value of calling yourself a fan. It’s not a badge of honour or anything. It just means you like a sports team. If you don’t but still call yourself one… that’s weird.
