And Ulmark is a career journeyman goalie, and it’s not like he isn’t facing grade A chances in some of these games.

To counter my point, you would expect at some point for there to be regression to a mean which we have not yet seen, for either the Flames or the Bruins. Maybe confidence has played a big role in that too though?

It’s hard to envision the Bruins as a top 6 (or maybe even 8) team in the East if they had the Flames goaltending from this year.
Things don't necessarily regress to the mean over the course of a season though - in some ways seasons are a bit arbitrary when it comes to something like statistical regression.

Over the last two years Markstrom has put up a .909 save percentage.

His career average is .910.

So if anything this season is the regression to his career mean after what was a outlier in a positive sense last year.

That's way over simplified but it's kind of been something that has plagued this team for about 10 years now - wide variation in shooting and save percentage year to year.

That's a pretty strange take, and certainly not what I took out of it.

Huberdeau has been a lot of things (and hasn't been a lot of things) on the ice, but pouty isn't one of them. 100% professional about everything that's gone on this year.

I've actually been impressed with him in this regard. Seems to interact with the media well and seems to make an effort to put a smile on his face when you know he's one of the most frustrated players in the group,

I would be embarrassed to take a franchise record contract and #### the bed.

Duehr had a great game, would like to his speed paired with a line with a bit more finish than Lewis and Lucic.

His hockey EQ is really low too. Instead of shooting, he made a pass (which got intercepted) when Boston goalie was without a stick. He fluke goal was from a pass too.

As has been said, he didn't know the goalie didn't have a stick

And if the pass gets through, it's almost certainly a goal

Fun game to watch. Felt bad for Vladar who usually plays much better.

Said it before, I’d rather make a goalie without a stick try to stop a pass across than a shot on a two on one. Huberdeau at that point is looking at a set up Ullmark, and wanted to make him move, which is what you want to do.

I don't really think we have had that much of a problem finishing this year. Certainly been a bit unlucky with posts etc but we currently sit middle of the pack in goals for. I don't really see a world with this roster that we are much better than 10th. I think we would need an elite power play quarter back which we don't have that being said still think Andersson is a great all around player.

The most frustrating part of the seasons are the number of goals on the first five shot and the come from behind losses. Literally no lead has been safe this year.

Flames played a great game last night and it was fun to watch (can't say that about many games this year). I'm not too fussed at this point on whether the flames make the playoffs. If they play like they did last night I'm happy to continue watching games.

Boy, does this stink of a narrative you’ve made up entirely in your own head.
