The sequence was around 13:20 of the 1st period.

A little more than 23 minutes into the live stream in Sportsnet.

Someone on Calgary Flames Reddit has done something with it:

The coaches change from McLellan, Hitchcock, Tippett, to Woodcroft but the "all eggs in one basket" approach seems to be the goto move for all their coaches. The bad thing for Woodcroft is that all the guys before him all got fired for trying to win with one line.

Really all those coaches don't have a choice given how the Oilers are built by these GMs.

Some of the worst D-corps and Goalie tandems in the cap era.

Well, not exactly. They got fired for failing to win with one line. The bozos running the Oilers still haven't figured out that you can't win with one line in the NHL.

It's like trying to break rocks with a cotton swab. It doesn't work and the swab snaps, so you throw it away and take another one out of the box. And another, and another… if you're really, really stupid.

This is exactly the issue. Coaches are still somewhat to blame but they are a very porrly constructed team.

They have 2 hgh end forwards with 3 high price good forwards behind them. IMO Mcdavid, Hyman, Draisaitl, Nuge and Kane are good enough of a top 5 group to win. Problem is they are spending a lot on those 5 guys and alot on guys behind them. Foegele, Puljujarvi and Yamamoto make over $10 mil of the cap but hardly play and are young guys that probably want a bigger role. At least Yamamoto and Puljuravi. All 3 aren't the Backlund Coleman type that excel in a shut down role or a PK role. It's just to much money on guys who want to score and not play a PK/shut down role. If they want guys like Hyman, Kane and Nuge behind McDavid and Leon then they probably are better off moving on from Puljujarvi and Yamamoto and going with guys like Holloway in their roles and using that money on a good dman.

Problem is they paid Nurse way too much and Campbell could be the next player that his contract is looking very very bad. They can't afford these mistakes

The top line was less visible, and I don't know if it's because they are playing against the top defenders on the other side or if we are just seeing them get used to each other and things aren't quite clicking yet. But how nice is it to have a second line that is just terrifying, and to see a strike-type team like the Oilers just reeling from being counter-punched? Lovely stuff.
Indeed he is, I was told he came to camp 7 lbs heavier with 2% less body fat over last year.

Believe it or not, that takes a lot of work.

This is just it.... okay Dallas Eakins is an unknown, but when you go through Tod McClellan and Tippett and Hitchcock....like maybe it's not the coaches, Scoob. Watching Mcavi's effort on Mangiapane's goal it's just staggering to think that this super fast gifted player just....won't.....check. so Woodcroft will go on the pile, fans will wring their hands, and McDavid will say "jeez I scored 4, what do you WANT?" And the idea of scoring four but being -1 on the night just diesn't compute.

Sutter said after the game vs Colorado that they asked Dube to come in to be a firm player and he added weight. Looks the training requirements is pretty specific and not just train hard.

There's some truth to that in past seasons but now McDavid has a shooter like Kane on his line there's really no reason to have Draisaitl on his other wing outside of man advantage situations. Bringing in Hyman and Kane should enable them to divide McDrai but their coach can't even go a game without throwing everything out the window to go back to what's not worked for them in the past.

Oil fan Drivesaitl speaks some truth about Woodcroft

Quote:
He's not smug? he's loaded with it. Its one of the attributes that make me uncomfortable with his persona. To me he's a bit like Eakins in how he projects and talks. He took credit many times last season for the team starting to win. I thought it was an odd look from a rook coach. The winning coincided with adding a player of Kanes caliber and McD took the team and went on a tear. That was mostly what happened.

Woody strikes me as a poser. Even the several vogue shots capture this. Looks like somebody that spends a lot of time in front of the mirror. Always the impression I get when I see him.

There were some juicy close ups of McDavid last night where you could tell “Ugh, 4 more years of this ####” was going through his mind.

Man, I legitimately can’t get enough of this team and find myself constantly regoogling Calgary Flames to see the newest article on them and just devour anything new on this team. I know it’s a long season and by no means should we as fans be getting ahead of ourselves but from how I was feeling about this team on July 13th to how I am feeling now is almost unfathomable. My early take always:

Andersson and Hanifin could really take a big step forward especially with both seeing PP time now

The addition of Weegar and the positive impacts he’ll bring hasn’t even come close to being fully realized, could become the best value contract on D in the league IMO

Zadorov has taken major steps and Stone seems to be filling the role of Gudbranson but seems lighter and more Agile with a seemingly heavier shot

Our d is ridiculously deep… haven’t mentioned Tany till now and Kylington hasn’t even stepped in yet this year

Our lineup hasn’t played a full 60 yet but is showing many positive signs all over

Deepest we’ve been at center, goalie and D in an extremely long time

Dube looks poised to take a giant step, Kadri is going to be incredible for him

Huby isn’t quite there yet system wise which is completely fine because he’s still stood out in games, he’s much more physical than Gaudreau and has an incredible toolbox as a playmaker, lots of different abilities

Sutter looks like he’s having a ton of fun, pressers are as good as ever

Can’t wait for the next game!

I actually feel Huberdeau has been great in the offensive end. His passing is truly elite. If Toffoli starts to bury some of those passes I think Huberdeau could easily have 5 assists in 2 games

I liked this clip of Kadri chatting with Lindy after a chance on a previous PP shift.

But did he tap him on the shoulder and say "let's go"? That's what leaders do... apparently, or so I am told.
