It may have been discussed previously but why did Rhett move back to Buffalo? I know his wife's family is from there but they had been living in Calgary for close to 20 years.
Life changes always happen for sure but that seems like a big family move overall.

to my knowledge they haven't mentioned it. just that he sort of did it on an impulse.

I may have this wrong, or not totally accurate, I’m going off memory but I think it was touched on during one episode that he didn’t like some of the things going on in Calgary minor hockey and thought it would be better to take his boys to play in Buffalo. Obviously, he is still tied in with a number of guys who played and still live there.
Warrener does talk often about the cross state tournaments his boys are involved in.

They are just renting what sounds like a townhome in Buffalo as Rhett mentioned his poor neighbors and the sounds through the walls as his kids can get wild. Also they still have their house in Calgary, he mentioned this a few times. There were some immigration issues they have touched on in which should Rhett leave to US he likely would not be allowed back into the US. It sounds like they have gotten this straightened out as he mentioned he would be back in Calgary around Easter time for a bit.

I may be not remember properly, but I recall Rhett mentioned offhand that his wife's family's from Buffalo, and since they've always moved to where he needed to be during his playing career, they'd give moving to where his wife's family's from as a change of pace now that he's retired.
I honestly think he just likes some of the things living in a US city offers (can go to a baseball game, different eateries, etc). Also sounds like the Sabres treat their alumni pretty well, so he's probably taking advantage of that too while he's living there.

His kids play competitive travel hockey this is why they moved to Buffalo.
Wow. Rhettro on a total tear there! And he’s not wrong. The players can play their own game…eff the coaches and their systems and …what? Sutter is gonna lace up?
I dunno. Was the problem with the Oilers the last 15 years that they didn’t show up and play? Or that the players were just not good enough. Taylor Hall was the headliner and he isn’t one. Thinking the same as Hubby.
Nah, they play lazy most nights. Don’t let them off the hook.
It’s quite simple. Does it look like they’re working hard? Digging? Moving their limbs hard and fast? Hitting / finishing checks? Willing to take the hit? Drive to the middle of the ice? Crash the net? Skate hard, both ways?
Nah. Not most nights, honestly. Rhett nailed it. There’s a lot of uninspired play. A lot of floating around. A lot of soft on pucks. It’s bull####.
Not sure if anyone caught todays show. I thought it was probably one of the best ones they have done. Really insightful discussions about Tre and the past and the possibilities.
I though their talk about Connie was bang on.

Just wanted to bump to say today's Barn Burner was excellent - not a ton of talk about what's going on in the playoffs, but more of a big picture talk about life from Boomer & Rhett. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3kmpldYb_Y

I too thought the show today was very entertaining and a real honest look behind the scenes of their lives, it was great
Todays show is what I was hoping we’d get from day one, and it sounds like we will get more like this during the off season. More talk and less “sports” talk. It can be hard for people to open their lives up to the listeners, and they have good reason to be reluctant (families) but that is the key to building a great show, be it the hosts, or the guests.
We can get the blah blah blah about last nights game anywhere, but they all have great stories, and can get great stories out of their guests. Being a long time 960 listener, I really would like for them to bring Kelly Kirsch on for a show.

What a fantastic interview. Really worth the time if you've got it to watch all the way through. Huska comes in about an hour into the video and then they talk to him for almost ninety minutes. Great stuff.
