For some reason I've golfed with many lefties despite that stat, weird.
Golf used to be an equipment issue; LH clubs were not easy to find. And most kids/beginners would try first with somebody's clubs, which were almost invariably RH.

Kind of a weird slam post, if you ask me. Having said that I'm completely open to being proven wrong as being wrong on this doesn't affect my life in any way.
I can't find any reliable information online, but some estimate that 30% of Canadian golfers golf left. It is widely known in the golf business that Canada has the largest population of left handed golfers in the world, likely because of hockey.

Yup, it’s something like 5% of all golfers on average but 20% of Canadians are lefties

I hated playing volleyball against guys like you. So much harder to block, and it throws off the entire defence when someone suddenly switches hitting arms.

I suck at a lot of stuff, so my oddities mean nothing, but I catch right when attempting to play in net, but catch left playing baseball.

Snowboarding, I'm regular foot, slalom water skiing, I put my right foot forward.

Edit: Also, yay Weegar! To think I was worried about the pain of sitting through an abysmal season where it was even difficult to give tickets away by the end.

I am thoroughly right-handed but hockey/golf left. Just feels 'right'.

Who is to blame for turning this thread into a discussion of left vs right handed? A week suspension should be handed out.

I am right-handed and shoot left in hockey, but the idea of swinging a lefty golf club seems so intuitively wrong to me that my brain just can't fathom it even though putting either left or right works for me.

Right handed, but skate and snowboard goofy, shoot and golf left, but can bat on both sides of the plate. I can bowl with either hand. I reverse my up and down on xbox.

Ok, in the Weeger signing thread we are now posting about which direction we snowboard.

C’mon.

It’s better than us hoping for him to sign.

This is how we celebrate!

I never understood the hockey and golf connection. They're not really the same movement. Golf and baseball share more similarities IMO. Holding a hockey stick shares more in common with holding a shovel. Or a curling broom.

Completely agree.
If you’re left hand is lowest on a hockey stick, normal would also be to have your left hand lowest on a shovel and curling broom.

I'm as dominant right handed as you can be...I really struggle playing on the left side of the ice. But a lot of the left handed shooting guys who were right handed told me the opposite...they'd rather be on the right side as left handed shots.
I'm right handed right shot and I much prefer playing on the left side of the ice.

Canoe paddle. As a RH left-side swinger I prefer my right hand on the grip of the paddle, even though it means my weaker left arm is doing more work.

Throughout history Left-handedness was seen as a sign of evil and suppressed, at times harshly.

Austrian physician and psychologist Wilhelm Stekel wrote in 1911 that “the right-hand path always signifies the way to righteousness, the left-hand path the path to crime. Thus the left may signify perversion, while the right signifies marriage, relations with a prostitute, etc.”

Not sure exactly where Wilhelm was going with that but there you have it, lefties are evil.
