My heart says Oilers in whatever it takes, but my head says Flames in six.

The injury to Draisaitl will be hard to overcome, and Nurse still wasn't skating like his old self in the Kings series. This could be somewhat countered by the injury to Tanev, but while a great defensive d-man, he doesn't have the same impact on the game as Leon IMO.

Besides that, I feel like the Flames have had more consistent performances throughout the year and consistency wins in the playoffs.

What gives me some hope is that the Kings were 5th in the league in corsi, fenwicks, etc in the regular season and the Oilers managed to beat them in every 5 on 5 possession stat over the course of their last series.

The Flames of course had better possession stats than the Kings and they have some very speedy forwards which could give the Oilers rather immobile D-core fits. Their finishing is also substantially better.

Oilers will need Smith to keep chugging from the fountain of youth, another godly performance by McDavid and some luck to take down this year's Flames. Either way its going to be memorable!

Oil Stain, I think that is a decent take for sure about everything you said. My main worry is that McDavid does in fact take the next step and starts to hone in on his ability to play a 200 ft game, if he does that, it significantly helps the Oilers. Lets be real though, I have yet to really see him do that in his career.

That injury to Draisaitl is not going to get better in the next week especially if he keeps playing 20 minutes + a game. I've had that injury during a season and I played after a weeks rest, it was taped up like I've never seen before and having any sort of movement or strength to push off from is almost non-existent without pain. You could see him laboring for sure in Game 7, will be interesting to see his skating in game 1. I think the Flames will try to hit him as much as possible knowing this, he will take a beating, I know he is a big guy, so can take a lot but if the Flames can neutralize him, I think the Flames win this series.

McDavid can't win the series on his own playing 25+ minutes a night in the playoffs, against a good defensive team like the Flames.

Either way, it is going to be fun and I think the Flames will win based off having a better defense and a better bottom 6 (ie depth). Right now, it seems Smith is on par with Markstrom, but that could change with the Flames having better 5v5 offense than the Kings.

Who's excited? I can barely work, or do anything else productive since Monday morning and rewatching all the videos from Sunday, oh man that was so exciting!

Go Flames Go! Yeah Baby!

I just want to see a line brawl in the first 5 minutes of game one that ends with Lucic holding McDavid's dead eyed head over his head while making Tuskan Raider sounds. Of course Kassian will be hiding under the Oilers bench while crying for his Mommy while MT mercilessly mocks him.

Draisaitl stumbling around the ice after being impaled with a broken hockey stick, and Smith lying on the ice nursing his exploded groin after trying to take a step up the ice to engage in a bro down with JM.

Best thing about the BOA is the money that is going to be made in hospitality.
The industry needs and deserves it.

yes, 100% this, it will bring in a lot of revenue all over Alberta, which is so great to see considering the last couple of years.

It's just so oilers that it shouldn't surprise anyone. It is most likely his social media team doing it. Everything about that cesspool of an organization screams inferiority complex, look at me.

Craig Simpson was an Oiler. Greg Millen called round 1 and he only called a few Flames games all year.

I find Simpson very impartial, for the most part.

The one thing he cannot overcome however, is his hatred for the Flames. He will start off balanced, but by game 3, when the emotions have ratcheted up, he will be a full-on Oiler cheerleader.

Coleman tweeted about the C of Red, but did so in a classy way. McDavid posting pics of himself are just so... yeah, he is an awkward dude.

The Flames were a shot away from cleaning out their lockers vs a team with a rookie goalie and a bunch of over the hill vets with no speed or finish...Sutter loves the 0 0 game going into the 3rd but it's not going to happen against the Oilers being carried by a generational player playing the best hockey anyone has ever seen. The Flames are filled with greasy goons who will try to get our skilled players to retaliate but hopefully the Oilers have learned to leave the Flames to turtle in the corner and stay out of the box. We don't need Kane sitting for five with Lucic because that's 5 minutes Lucic is unavailable to make horrible passes and turnovers. Oilers in 6 because the Flames will squeak some goals through our leaky goaltending. If we swapped the goalies it'd be a sweep.

I don't know why everyone is so upset about that tweet by McDavid.
What is wrong with posting a picture of the whole team?

This guy gets it. If there was something fundamentally different about the Oilers they would win.

Flames come out and score 6 unanswered goals in the first period. Release Lucic, Lewis, Ritchie, Zadorov, Gudbranson, Coleman and Dube on Draisaitl for the rest of the game…

Hahahaha

The Flames faced a team that went to the Cup finals and Conference finals the last two seasons, and that rookie goalie had 14.34 goals saved above expected in a 7 game series.

If you're going to be an obnoxious troll at least try to be smart about it, and not sound like a completely uninformed buffoon.

Yeah the Stars were far better then the Kings, had a goalie in god mode while Quick was Meh. Add on the Kings were missing one of their best forwards and a game changing defensemen, and still the Oilers needed 7 games and looked pretty ordinary except for McGoof.

The Flames will grind the Oilers in their own end, take away the lanes in the Neutral zone and hammer on the Oilers all over the ice.

Kassian will take bad undisciplined penalties and the Oilers Blueline will be exposed in the own end against the Flames nasty physical forecheck.

Smith will see a billion quality shots from the Flames unlike the Kings shooting from the outside with no real net front presence.

Sutter will coach circles around Woodcroft and McDavid will be crying to management that they need a new coach by game three. The Oilers will win the first game on their own ice because the league will feel bad for the inept Oilers and give them a steady stream of powerplays.
