Flame’s dominated the game. Ottinger was great but beatable.
Surprise that Stone came in. He added another dimension. Jarnkrok played his best game as a Flames imo. Johnny is getting better every game.
I had to go to bed right after 1-0 goal due to being up for work at 3am (Ugh) but what a fantastic result to wake up to! And from the highlights an absolute domination by the Flames. WHOOOOOO!!!!!

Have they released Amy other angles of the Namestnikov hit on Gaudreau? From one angle it looks kind of like whiplash and from the other it looks like a clear headshot. Arguing with a leafs fan who thinks it was a clean play.
If no other camera angles of this have been released Is this going to be like the Benn high stick where the video is controlled and released later when there is less of a call for suspension?

The angles on the American broadcast it honestly looked clean to me. I can see why they penalized it, but it didn't look like there was any head contact, even on follow through. To me anyways.

Hope Johnny's okay. Those things can linger.
It's a weird one. The angle of approach is bad, and Gaudreau seems to have his head whip back and is definitely rattled. But it looks clean from the reverse angle and bad from the forward and left angle. Would love another angle to know if he actually clipped his head directly.
Markstrom solid. Beyond solid, made a lot of really sneaky hard saves.
Top line going well again. Lack of 4 on 4 helped.
Opened up odd man rushes finally.
JG balls of steel to try that move with Adrenalin pumping…it takes subtle patience to pull it off.
Lucic and Lewis absolutely fantastic. Toffoli played more energized because he had a center(Lucic) that could get him a puck.
Backlund terrible. Dallas 1st period cross bar was him missing and letting his defenseman skate up main street.
Incredibly selfish penalty for elbowing, lead to Dallas PP goal.
If you look back the game, look at the effort at 3:20 left when Toffoli makes a safe PP play behind the net. Backlund isn’t in position nor really hustles to try and get position or the puck, Dallas clears.
Next time up ice 15 seconds later, he watches the puck in no man’s land and doesn’t cover Andersson and then let’s Pavelski skate right past him, and takes another penalty because of his laziness. Just ridiculous.
Required win and Flames dominated, yet again.
Your Backlund thing is a little odd. Bad penalty for sure, but he was dominant defensively and a warrior on the PK.
Only Dube had better metrics in the game, and in the series Backlund leads all forwards in CF% and xGF%.
He's literally been the shut down beast you want him to be.

I think it's one where Johnny's reaction lead to the call. Not because he faked it, but when a player is crouched over holding his head, it's not because he got the wind knocked out of him.
