It's just nice to get the first one so you know for sure you get the split going back home. That being said, winning game 4 carries momentum heading home.

And honestly good riddance if that’s the case. Handing out $20-25 million a season to two players we know for a fact can’t elevate their game enough to win in the playoffs is a recipe for suffering for more than 5 years like the Wild did tying up that much cash in Suter and Parise. In a cap league a $10 million plus player needs to be Sidney Crosby good for you not to suck.

I’ve been waking up 5am twice and 4.30 am once to see this unfold. I’m so tired, and I’m done if they lose the series, so done.

I don’t think Sutter was calling him out. He was just stating a fact. Johnny is paid to score goals. He had a chance to change the game by scoring and he failed. We needed him to score there.

What part of that isn’t true? It’s not overly harsh, it’s just reality.

I think we got a few undercover grease fans phoning into OT.
When you phone in just to say. "the flames are done"
"positive thing is the golf courses are looking good in Calgary right now"
"I'm sure lots of flames are good golfers"

Steinberg needs a buzzer like Rome used to have.

No gm is going to watch this series and hand out that much money to those guys, regardless of what happens next.

There are a lot of 10M players in this league, they aren't all Crosby

You could be right. Let’s see how the series plays out. If they lose, it’s a rebuild.

Yep. That said, it's not an understatement to call game 4 a must-win. I don't think they come back from a 3-1 deficit against this team.

Wanna bet? 8 of 32 teams are getting past round one...lots of players who have done nothing in the playoffs get paid

The 4th line was the best line in terms of forechecking.

Breakaway with 2-3 minutes, guys have to score, it's their job.

Regular season Flames could beat Dallas 3 straight games. Need that mojo back but I’m not sure what it is going to take. Keep grinding and the scoring will come. Just need it to happen soon!

They both will be gone. If they cant get out of round 1 again with this core it's curtains for them all I think. I could see a big fire sale on many players with them all pretty much due for a big pay raise. I'd walk Tre too for mediocre results.

The reality is I don't think most owners care about playoff success when your teams raking in the bigmoney having a top team In the regular season for 82 games.

It’s odd how consistently underwhelming the flames have been.

Top line with a couple goals but overall disappointing. PP1 has been a massive bust. Second line invisible. Third line invisible. Noah has been mistake prone. Both Shilly and Andy haven’t done a lot. Guds and Z have failed to be the big bruising duo we were all expecting in the playoffs.

At least our lineup is consistent?

When blessed with being clairvoyant one should not waste their time on hockey forums, they should be buying lotto tickets.

Sure. But of all the things that went wrong tonight, that’s what you say? The middle six is getting dominated. Toffoli is terrible. So is Backland.

I trust Sutter and have to believe he knows what he is doing motivation wise. It was just surprising to me that he chose to call Johnny out. All I’m saying. He’s not the issue here.

I just don’t get Sutter calling out Johnny after that game. He was not the problem. At all. I have to trust he knows him and it’s a motivating thing. But, from the outside, hard to understand.
Agreed on Tkachuk. He's been a ghost out there. Hasn't seemed relevant to the game at all, and yet he's the guy with the skills to score the goalmouth goals and the deflections that they need in this series.

Johnny made some great passes and got his chances this game. The breakaway was a disappointment, but he was generating offense.

If they bow out in this series performing as they have so far, I'd guess Johnny will be gone but I'd rather Tkachuk go. We're seeing nothing from him.

You want consistency. Even if they win you can't undo the last week
