Like this pick alot. Took a huge step this year. The only U18 d man to play in the NCAA in the last decade. The others being Hanifin, Werenski, and Simpson.

He's 6.3'. He's big but not insanely big. Solid defensively and good skating.

Hockey Prospects really likes his physical defensive game. Not that he's just a hulking guy but has the head to use his tools along with the skating ability in all directions.

Lots of questions of whether he'll be able to offensively produce even though he has a booming shot.

Fact remains 2 teams have traded into early 2nd and made the picks they wanted. So its not that teams didn't want to trade lol

Flames "rumored to want to trade up per SN960" failed to do so or didn't actually try and we lost out on some solid pieces so far.

Maybe the rumors are wrong. Maybe the player(s) Tre wants are still there. And just maybe he knows 100% more than us posters.

At this point really, the players become big unknowns for me, unlike NFL draft...

Poirier isn't really new or old school.
He's a completely unique prospect with some elite offensive abilities and a complete disaster defensively.
There is something there but it is extremely raw.
He may actually be a better forward.
