I’ve recently been enjoying Karl Urban as a delightful Kiwi Willy Wonka in these chocolate ads.

Episode 4 is gruesome, I had a hard time watching it. I get gratuitous violence is part of the show but that was too much for me.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but it does seem that they've really amped up the gore factor this season.
Gen V also felt hyper-violent compared to the first 3 seasons of The Boys.

Episode 5 definitely lots of gore.
Why doesn't Neuman just explode the sheep?

Felt like a filler episode in a way.

Not necessarily a 'filler' episode per se, but I think they take certain opportunities to remind viewer of the kind of person Homelander is.
Recklessly sadistic.
It establishes why The Boys' mission is so important and the parameters of the world they're trying to build.

The flying Vd-up sheep were simultaneously the most terrifying and hilarious thing I've seen in a while.
And they didn't find the hamster, did they?

Figured it was going to be pretty hard for that episode to top dropping a "Maid in Manhattan" tour right off the bat, but that basement scene was hilarious.

I wonder how happy the writers were when they got to write Jeffrey Dean Morgan threatening to cave someone's head in?

This show kills me. What used to be a wink and a nod to current political climate/memes is just flat out stated verbatim from actual political quotes.
But I do think this show is far more nuanced than I used to give it credit for. Still, some absolutely insane #### to put on a screen. The Tek Knight dungeon scene was ####ing nuts. I was laughing and cringing the entire time.
