My neighbour is a manager with Sask Tourism, and says that hotels are almost entirely booked between Moose Jaw and Estevan.

If we didnt already have company and people staying, I would have gladly opened my house up to some CPers

Good luck to those looking though. I heard VRBO and air bnb might be an option

Keep checking if stuff is sold out as with previous grey cups there is a lot of ticket turnover in the week leading up which leads to people canceling hotels. I would assume this event would be similar.

it seems like there are a number of seats in the upper east section that say "partially obstructed view". Does anyone know what this could be? A giant boom camera or something?

Not sure.

But if you're looking for tickets though check out the CP Ticket Exchange - looks like some people are selling below face value.

Those are both absolutely gorgeous. If I had to pick one I liked more it'd be Cam's, but Dave's is also great.

Rather similar. Surprised at no watermelons.

I forget - do the goalies typically split time in the game?

No. It’s a league game.

Here's hoping they don't lol.

They should only split time if one gets pulled so that wouldn't be ideal.

I know it's a league game. But I thought they might anyway, so they can say they played in it.

Win for the team over individual achievements.

Also didn't we shaft some starter goalie at our heritage classic? Like they got special gear for it and we benched them? Hiller?

Related - one thing I have against these games is that it's treated like a quasi exhibition - special playing conditions, they wear stuff like toques on their head over their helmets, etc. But it's a real game. IMO that's part of what contributed to Crosby's concussion years back - he wasn't focused and fell victim to an out of play cheap shot.

The outdoor conditions can also favor the less skilled team.

No, that was for a retro night thing, I believe.

Kipper was the only one who was ever going to start the Heritage Classic the last time the Flames played... and he never bothered with getting special gear (he even wore his Flames gear in the Olympics).

Not being played in the Heritage Classic was the last straw for Luongo in Vancouver. Their Heritage Classic at BC Place was on March 2, 2014 and he was traded on March 4. He had all new retro gear made for the game and was very upset that he didn't play.

Both of those masks are just "ok" in my opinion. They should look fine with the retro whites.

I really dislike DaveArt masks though so I suppose they could have been a lot worse.

Yeah they are ok. They look too modern for a Heritage mask. Go with an artist who can paint in a retro style, not someone using “2D retro” and “brushstroke tech”.
