Good result. I definitely celebrated in the bar I was hanging at, despite the attention being on the saturday night date. Better yet a flood of sad Coilers came through later which filled me with joy and satisfaction. Why the hell are kids born around the turn of the millennium wearing (aside from the standard bandwagon 97) 80s players on their backs? You weren't even alive for that ####. Smh.
CP was fully in the suicide booth in the second period though. Whoa boy. Let's try to keep a little distance from the edge, shall we? Game isn't over till it's over! Can we learn from tonight and not write off the team for the rest of the season half way into a game?

It's gonna sort itself out if the team can pile up some points and build a cushion in the standings. It's been stressful for such a long while, and no matter if we've been in or out of the playoffs we've been right on the cusp throughout the entire season. This team should be good enough to separate themselves from the pack, and once that happens I bet the mood will become more even.

I’ve stopped following the game thread entirely - I can pay more attention to the game and all it did was make me frustrated.
PGT after watching the game is still awesome usually though.

What a game to be at, a ton of emotion. If we can get Rittich going as starter, we could be watching something special going on here. As a STH, this is the strongest team I have seen for years.

I know it’s early and the sample size is still too small.... but what if Big Save Dave really is the guy? Like instead of even an average goalie, an upper echelon starter? What bigger thing could happen for this team than that? Not having to spend assets on a goalie sets this team up for a long run of success.

Gotta give him credit though for the “ooooooooof” call on the Bennet hit which was right in front of him. Love it when commentators react to hits that way, especially ex-players. When they do that you know it’s a big hit.
