I'd rather see Jets fans get rewarded than see most other fanbases get rewarded. These are Canadians who truly love the game. I can't stand seeing teams like Anaheim, LA, Tampa, etc. sell their stadiums out when times are good then, when times are bad, you can get in the door for $15 with a beer and a hot dog included.
Go Jets. Go Canada (but screw the Oilers and Canucks).

By your logic, should not the Oilers and Canuck fans be rewarded too? Oiler fans have been suffering since 2006. Canucks since the 70s. Ticket prices have been high the whole time.
Jets fans couldn't be bothered to attend playoff games when they had a team in the past. I don't see why this iteration of fans "deserves" anything. Screw em.
If any set of fans "deserve" anything, it's gotta be Caps fans. Always the prettiest girl at the dance, but never the homecoming queen.

There is no logic to being a fan.
Its enough for me that Winnipeg is a Canadian city not called Vancouver or Edmonton, has a healthy contingent of Canadian players and at least two boys from Calgary(Lowery and Myers).
I'll tell you one thing though, I have really enjoyed the play of Dustin Byfuglien. What an amazing player and he looks like he has not lost a step since the Chicago days. Although not Canadian, he should be an honorary member of the tribe.

That was the joke! As a Flames fan my logic gets thrown away when it comes to the Oilers or Canucks.

The only thing not to like about it is all the orgasmic joy White Out 403 is getting.
I don't mind the jets winning but I hate the Jet's fans. I would trade out entire roster for theirs in a heartbeat. I also have 3 jets in my playoff pool.
So my hope is they lose game 7 in the finals in OT, to whomever. Just like the 06 Oilers and the 10 Canucks.

Both spellings are used to describe a goalie playing like ####. Look it up if you don't believe me.

There's talk about Saros starting for game 4 but I find it difficult to imagine sitting the likely Vezina winner. Maybe if he blows game 4 too I can see going to Saros.

Playoff attendance was not an issue in Winnipeg for the original Jets. Attendance during the regular season certainly was an issue... just like it was in Calgary during the young guns era.

The level of the players in this series is off the charts... Nashville traded a 1st and a 4th and a prospect for Hartman and a 5th. Hartman has a healthy scratch in the first game of the and pretty invisible during the last 2 games.

The old Winnipeg arena was too small and ownership didn't have very deep pockets. They saw a chance to make a big profit and they took it imo. I hope they rot in ......

It's still accepted which is my point. It's no different than people using "ya" for "yeah". And it's not just something new either.

This thread is getting unreadable between arguments over colander vs strainer vs sieve and even the discussion of jets attendance in the 80s.

I've been entertained by the hockey I've seen in this series so far. If you can look at the Jets as a somewhat neutral observer, there really is a lot to like about that team. When Big Buff scored the 4th goal, he honestly looked like he was a 6'-0 tall player compared to the guys on the ice who came to congratulate him. That's a big team that can skate. Now that they look to have a goaltender, they should be very good for quite a while.
The people in Winnipeg are lucky to have an owner like Chipman.

Chipman is definitely the figurehead of ownership. Thomson is the money. The quiet money.

Yeah, but sweet old Harley got more taxpayer money subsidizing his arena and a season's ticket drive.
