I really like how the team plays with Rittich in net, I'm not so sure how much of a net positive Mike Smith's puck-handling ability is for this team.

The thing I've noticed about Bennett, he doesn't seem to be trying to go 100 miles an hour all the time anymore. he's controlling the flow and play, making smart, deliberate plays.

He's fine. Just doesn't make sense to have him flying from the Saturday game in Toronto all across the country.

Feels good to have a back-up who can actually win.

I’m just over the moon that we have two strong net minders to debate who we’d love to see in rather then what we have been saddled with for years now. Such a great feeling to not feel your sphincter clench with every shot opportunity no matter how low quality.

This is just an elaborate ruse by Flames management to get a new arena.

Right? They've come a long way. To think only a couple years ago it was debating who we wanted to see out of Hiller and Ramo based on who we thought would get us killed less horribly.

Rittich has looked terrific, sitting behind the net and he never seems out of position

This is how it should have been from the beginning. older, experienced goalie and one of our young guys as backup to learn from the older guy and get NHL experience for a couple of years.

Hometown Hockey is where he should be, you notice all the shots of the activities behind the set, I’m sure Ron does autographs and interacts with the fans. Him back to Toronto makes less sense.
And why fly Hrudey to Toronto each Friday night for 36h? He can do that via satellite, on air and off air as they prepare during the day, with no loss of his analysis.

I take it back, that was worth it for McLean to fly out.
