Well thank god I was busy tonight so I wasn't able to watch any of the game until now.

3-0 eh? Not surprised really. I just watched the highlights on game center (of which there were literally no highlights for the Flames), and I have to say goaltending is letting us down again other than that power play goal.

Can anyone give me a quick synopsis of what's going on besides those goals?

I don't think it's an either or situation, entirely.

I made that post a few up about acquiring Claude Julian immediately if he becomes available, but that is completely independent from what I think of our top players this season.

There's something on but it sure doesn't look like hockey.

I love how cool and calm Gulutzan is, it's like he doesn't even know where he is or what's happening around him. Cameron and Gelinas should tie his shoelaces together.

Let us not forget: possession hockey wins games.

Song choice solely due to the location of this game:

Is there any way we can sit the coach for a few games?

Nailed my thoughts. If Julian is available you get him immediately. Regardless of what else is going on, it's an upgrade. That doesn't mean the team will instantly start being amazing, because the players need to improve too.

Keep looking down at the bench. The answer MUST be somewhere there.

Ride this crap out and figure things out in offseason.
For one thing you get the whole adjusting to a new system out of the way and hopefully avoid another slow start.

For another:

Spoiler!

Because they're not going to be a perennial playoff team under Gulutzan. Not this year, not in 5 years with him. It's not happening with a nice guy coach that won't get upset about a stretches like these past 4 games.

The sooner he goes, the better.

Not to mention a number of players, too.

Also if you put in your future guy now, then you avoid the 15-20 games at the start of next season of "system adjusting" that will put the team way behind the ball again.

Their goaltending needs to provide a lot more offense.

I think that's fair.

I don't know enough about what Gulutzan does or doesn't do to definitively pin this on him. But even with bad coaching, you'd expect to see professional athletes show more than this. The players are embarrassing themselves out there.

I highly doubt bringing Scotty Bowman in would fix some of these issues. The players need to be held accountable by one another.

I'm not against making a coaching change at some point if this continues, but I don't have high hopes the players will stop being idiots out there.

Depends on who you ask. Are you glass half full or half empty?

Half full: They don't look terrible out there. They just can't buy a goal or stop one for that matter. Appear to be skating better than last night and are playing more physical (which ain't saying much).

Half empty: They suck, no heart, no coach, no talent, no goalie, no hope, laughing stock, worst team in the NHL, no hope, fire everyone.
