The dearth of leadership for the movement is striking, MLK would be turning in his grave if he could see what happening. Leaders such as JC Watts, and Dr Walter Williams are ignored while career race baiters like Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are foisted on the populace.
BLM is a rudderless ship of divisiveness.

There are several articles a week about race in the Globe and Mail, Canada's leading newspaper. There are several stories about race every week on CBC radio and CBC News. School curriculum is full of examinations of race and identity.
I guess I need someone to explain to me what a society that talks about race sufficiently enough to avoid this kind of condemnation looks like. Anyone care to provide some real-world examples of such a society?
I teach high school and in my opinion the curriculum does a piss poor job of examining race and identity. "Multiculturalism" isn't the same thing as anti racism and decolonization.

I don't know the writer, but this popped up in my FB feed.
edit * actually, it's not that good. Here is what a poster said on the website -Matt - There's a common mistake that is often found in well meaning articles like this. Saying that more white people do X is meaningless unless you compare population sizes. About 70% of the population is white and 13% is black, this means in the above example given where you cite that 55% of police deaths are caused by whites and 46% by blacks the stats show whites are actually much less likely based on population size to kill a cop. Someone who understands statistics would instead of reading your interpretation would read the opposite, because in that case 13% of the population caused 46% of police fatalities. Suddenly you're confirming your opponent's position rather than bolstering your own.

Hah, I get the feeling that you're about to tell me that "everyone knows" they're terrible and corrupt or something.

Their handling of missing women during the Pickton years springs to mind. There was also the whole getting prostitutes to perform their "services" in exchange for leniency thing that a bunch of them got busted for a few years ago. Those are just the first two off the top of my head, but yeah, there's also a general reputation they have among people who live in Vancouver.

Everytime something like this happens, the respect for authority, the state and the lives of those who serve the state are devalued.

Hank Sherrod, Patel's attorney, told NBC News in an email that the state's decision to drop the assault charge is deeply troubling, though not entirely surprising.
"This decision illustrates how difficult it is to hold law enforcement officers accountable under the criminal laws for brutal acts that would send an ordinary citizen to jail," he said.
The crime? Not being white, not speaking english well, walking outside.
The only person punished in this case? The police chief who fired the officer in question.
These are the things that lead to people killing police officers. You can either punish the guilty or hope you're not one of the innocent.
