Yup, down 3-0 in the series. Down 3-0 in Game 7 of the series. Ended up winning both the game and the series 4-3. They were the third team in NHL history to win a series after falling down 3-0 (the 2014 Kings became the 4th).

I really wish this game 7 was on tonight too. its getting harder and harder to convince the GF that I should be able to watch hockey games every night where my team isn't playing.

Anyone have any experience in this? Do slight hockey fans ever become bigger fans if they get exposed to more hockey?

PVR it while you amuse her for a few hours. Then watch the game after she goes to bed, you can watch an entire game in about 70 minutes.

Slight fans do not become bigger fans when force fed hockey.

Could try to tell her that the Oilers shouldn't count as watching hockey as it is more of a charitable donation of time. So that 6-7 months shouldn't count and really the payoff from all that charity should allow you to be able to watch real hockey for the 3 months its on.

In all seriousness, they only way I get my wife to watch with me when my team isn't playing is find some common ground she can relate or become slightly invested in. In the Anaheim is was cheering against the dirty ex-Canucks we both hated and currently with Dallas it is the fact if they win the Flames get a better pick.
