I think you are actually neglecting Jumbo's renaissance season. He scored 82 points this year and was the overall leader on the Sharks, points-wise.
He has been really good this season along with Burns and little Joe.

Burns puts's up the offensive numbers, but to me Vlassic is the glue piece on their back end. Not as flashy offensively but he's bloody good in his own zone. As much as advanced stats folks hate blocked shots...he singlehandedly made sure Martin Jones didn't have to deal with three shots in the last minute.

And Nashville. St. Louis and Dallas have a real shot.

Chicago to a certain extent had some cap flexibility to go forward with. At least they've set themselves up better since they won cup 2 where they can make moves to reload.
The Kings still have good core pieces, but they're depth is starting to get old and expensive, and isn't what it once was. Like you say they can still make the playoffs and in a given year could get hot. Similar to Detroit I think. Since they lost in the cup final in 09 they've made the playoffs every year, but haven't been able to get past the second round, and are looking at a third straight first round exit.

Agreed, Vlasic is also great. I kind of left that as a given. My post was more in reference to Team Canada. They already have Vlasic on the team, to me the last three spots come down to Gio, Brodie, Burns and Subban. Before I would have said both Flames guys should go, with the toss up being Burns vs Subban. Now, I would be fine if Burns was chosen over the others.

Oh great. Cartman again on the Kings PA system. Please just finish them SJ so I don't have to hear that annoying ###### again for a while.

Are they seriously questioning if that's a penalty?
Mike Johnson doesn't sound convinced.
