But Chip traded McCoy because he didn't want to spend money on the running back position.....right?

I don't have a problem with that aspect of it. If you lose McCoy but net Alonso and Murray in the process, that's a win. However, adding Mathews and trying to get rid of Mathis is a headscratcher.

That said, I'm having traumatic "Dream Team" flashbacks.

Easily in the top 5 biggest busts of all time conversation.

Looks like Pats are very interested in him.

As well as Bush as a replacement for Vereen.

Mathis would be a great fit there, and by all accounts he's just an awesome dude to have in the locker room.

What a big mistake that was. I do wish him all the best though and hope he does get another opportunity somewhere. I think he needs a fresh start.

I don't like the talk of trading Mathis, has played well for the Eagles and I thought as well as our depth played last year you can never have enough of it. Hate losing the big guys up front.

I'll take Murray, Alonso, Maxwell for what we were pretty much set to pay McCoy last year. Just surprised Chip went for another older, expensive back. Fits the scheme as does Mathews but that is a lot of money tied up with RB's with Sproles in there as well.

Mathis is 33 right now and although good, I think Chip values the tackles and center a lot more than guards... I don't even know what to think anymore, Chip is f'n crazy.

Bring on the Murray/Matthews tandem!

My guess is Percy Harvin. Would have preferred Andre or Randall Cobb though!

Apparently Jordan Cameron had a deal to in principle to return to the Browns, but ended up signing with the Dolphins for the exact same amount of money. Oh Cleveland.

Knighton gets a one year 4 mil deal from Washington. Maybe going into FA 50lbs overweight was a bad decision.

Any word on where Fairley is going? Inconsistent but easily the best Dlineman available.

This one is kind of puzzling in the Saints fire sale: Kenny Stills for Dannell Ellerbe and a 3rd round pick. Odd because Ellerbe has a terrible contract and Stills is on his rookie deal. Saints also sign CJ Spiller who obviously will try and fill the Sproles role they badly missed.

Kinda confused with the Stills move today. He was on a rookie deal, and the trade actually brought IN cap money. The only thing I can think of is there were rumours the Saints locker room (always known to be among the tighter/more mature rooms in the league) was a mess last year. Maybe Stills was one of the offenders?

Either that and/or Payton's banking on the fact Brees has made many an ordinary WR look like a stud (look at the money SD threw at Meachem cuz of Brees, I knew they'd regret that one immediately). I guess Payton's banking on Brees doing the same with young guys waiting in the wings like Coleman and Toon.

Just an unbelievable off-season so far. I'm hearing basically anyone not named Brees or Cooks is available. I have a feeling the madness isn't done yet..

Only problem with that theory Sainters is that Stills IS a stud.

The Dolphins have taken a huge step forward on offense this week.
