I honestly never thought being a hockey fan could be so rewarding.
Not only does my favourite team happen to be the funnest to watch in the NHL right now, but their biggest rival team is sinking lower than any team ever has in NHL history.
Icing on the cake will be when Edmonton somehow misses out on both Mcdavid and Eichel.

The point of the press conference was 'Don't blame me. I've only been on the job 20 months'.
I knew that was what it was going to boil down to.
For Edmonton fans, is there really a point to attending games or even watching them for the rest of the year. It would be ok if this team was losing and entertaining and gave a glimmer of hope for next year. But none of that is happening and this team is going to be struggling for a lot more years if this current demented regime stays in place.
Even if every game is sold out, if Fans didn't show up, or refused to buy concessions changes would probably happen in a hurry.
As it stands Katz is smart, there's no reason to change as long as Edmonton pays a lot of money to his income stream.

Not the coach's fault.
The core is developing.
The pro scouting is doing a better job bringing in players over the past year or two.
They have a story to tell.
Nikitin is an NHL player.
Will develop Leon where it's best for him. He will probably stay with big club.
He's only been on the job for 20 months.
Don't lump him in with previous management.
The Winnipeg game was a great game.
He's only been there 20 months.

When it comes to drafting players, we're more regionally focused = No more Yakapovs
And finding local guys who can handle Edmonton....expect more Raiders, Blades, Rebels and Cougars.........players from dumps who will think Edmonton is awesome.
(I grew up in one of those dumps)

I like how he threw former players on the fire as well.
"When Horc was here he said he wanted to be paid what the Sedins were getting paid".
"When Hemsky used to come back to the bench after turning the puck over, couldn't keep yelling at him every time".
How was that useful or relevant at all to what is happening now? Not vey classy at all. Not to mention that they were two players that had way more heart than any of the players they have now.
Also, I have the feeling that "scrutiny" is the world of the day on MacT's word calendar.
