I'm sure the crowd noise aspect lies in the hands of the sound production team and someone on that team must have a specific reason for mixing the sound in a specific way. Maybe the person in charge prefers a lower level of crowd noise or maybe there is some sort of mandate set out to ensure that the commentators have more emphasis and can be easily heard. Whatever the case may be, I do agree that the sound quality is poor.

How was the audio sync last night? I switched from Shaw to Telus last week, and did not notice any delay in the audio. Still very muted crowd noise, but no delay.

Was fine for me on Shaw, but usually is unless the game is on SN Flames. I can't remember having the issue on SNW.

Surely Sportsnet is aware of this, no?

Job interview Tuesday. I'll see if I can slip the audio issue question in there.

I'd always heard about the "goal is called before the shot goes in" - particularly in the Rob Kerr era - but had never experienced it. While out on the Left Coast camping, I watched several Flames games on SNW via "My Bell TV". Sure enough - time and time again, I found the sync off.

Very distracting!

I found that its particularly noticeable when refs are making announcements and their mouths are moving offset to the audio.
