Exactly what I was thinking. The lining up with another car thing only works if they're properly lined up, so now you're checking their car against the yellow lines when by now you could have looked at your own damn lines and parked your car already.

What I think has been established though is that people park next to other cars for reasons other than they are just being jerks, even if in some cases, their reasoning may be faulty.

In that post of my mine you just quoted, I did not state anywhere that parking next to somebody makes you a jerk, merely that parking next to somebody if using their vehicle as a guide seems to involve an additional step, if your intention is to park between the lines.

Not sure why you brought that up again.

Well I wasn't intending it as an attack on you. I didn't notice who I was quoting just that I was drawing a conclusion that was a contentious point of this thread.
