Does that really change anyone's view of the Canucks? they pretty much had to do that...I mean its better than not coming out but I think any team would have done it

Doesn't mean you can take it away from them, I'll give them that. Classy move.

Anaheim defeated LA in a shootout, clinching first in the West. This also set the wildcard match-ups in the first round.

After years of complaining about being two time zones away from the rest of their Pacific Division opponents, Dallas finally moved to the Central Division this year...So, what happens? They get the lower wildcard spot and get seeded as the 4th place team in the Pacific Division. Of course, after so many years of barely missing the playoffs, I don't think anyone in Dallas will complain about it.

Going into the final day of the season, the only playoff pairings that aren't set are for the Central Division. Right now, Colorado and St Louis have identical records, but Colorado is seeded ahead based on ROW.

The Blues play Detroit at 12:30. If they lose in regulation, Colorado will clinch first in the Central. If St Louis gets at least one point, the Avs will need to at least match their result against the Ducks to get first.

If Minnesota can beat Nashville on Sunday, it will mean that 7 of the 8 playoff teams in the West will finish the year with at least 100 points. Boston has won the President's Trophy, but the top 4 teams in the West all have more points than the second place team in the East.
