This looks good on that American team. Just a really unsportsmanlike group of players. Even their coach seems like a real b_tch.
Also, MVP has to be Shannon Szabados. Goodness gracious she won this by herself.
Oh exactly, ever since they pulled that flag crap in 2002, and the fix was in with the reffing, I just want to see these American girls get silver every single time. And this close... hahah, so sweet.
Whenever people ask me about my favorite game, that 2002 womens is at the top. Just cause the girls had to beat the US and the refs. It wasn't even trying to be hid. 11-1 at one point? Worst most disgraceful thing I had ever seen in hockey.
That's the kinda thing that could curse your team for generations. If you believe in that sort of thing anyway. If your a little stitious like me.

It was #15 that looked to be pouting - Schleper, I think. I was impressed with the US goalies though, in the way they took their medals, in comparison to the rest of them. Classy.
What's the logic behind using women refs? They were brutal. I assume NHL refs are the best of the best, why not use them?
I assume because the rules are different when it comes to body contact. Just throwing in a ref who is used to NHL body contact/positioning wouldn't be that great.
The call they seem upset about is the slash in OT, but like Cassie said, they were warned...
Still a soft, soft call.
Ultimately though:
'Cross-check' against Canada was weak.
'Slashing' against USA was pathetic.
'Cross-check' against USA was just plain wrong, should have been a penalty shot.
Works out in the end.
