I totally agree. Feaster sold low on Iginla and Bouwmeester compared to what Buffalo was getting for lesser players and the last two drafts IMO were very average outside of the no-brainer at 5th overall.

Question about their relationship as President and GM
-Jay did his best to make it work, I did my best to make it work
-I have to look at the steps that have been taken and figure out the best way to get us on the right path

Only real shock is that it didn't happen earlier. Guys always like to bring their own people in to begin with and when the current guys aren't doing a a great job it makes it that much easier to replace them.
The coaching staff if likely safe for a couple of reasons. First is they haven't been given anything to work with. Second thing is that whoever Burke brings in as GM is going to be the one to make the decision on the coaching staff.

Burke just said he wasn't impressed the Flames past drafts after analyzing them.

Yeah, I think this signifies that Burke doesn't like Hartley, and basically Feaster has kept Brent (longer than he should have) and now hired Hartley.

Burke doesn't like the way the team plays. Not strong and hard enough.

Ultimate goal is to win the Stanley Cup. Burke evaluated and decided that this move needed to be made to get there.
Teams need to be big to win the Stanley Cup. We are not big enough or hostile enough. DOesn't like the way we play. (Read into that what you will).

Question about what he doesn't like
-The top ten successful teams share one thing and that is they are big
-I believe that once the Anaheim team won the cup in 07 every team started modelling themself after them
-WE AREN'T BIG ENOUGH AND WE AREN'T HOSTILE ENOUGH
-You need a blue print to assemble a team a certain way, and that is what this GM is going to have to do because that is what wins in this league
-We like black and blue hockey in Alberta

When he was first hired, didn't he say he thought the Flames had the best 2013 draft in the league?

Gah. Gonna have to rewatch a recorded version of this press conference. Something tells me the website is about to crash.

That was very obvious.... up until we brought in BB, I think we lost every deal, each of varying degrees.

-Jay is my friend, not fun firing a friend and I am not shoveling dirt on him

Thus why he looks distressed. I hope this shuts up the people who keep saying he's a bully or whatever.

Question about how this will change the rebuilding program that has already been under way.
-I don't think it makes a whole hell of a lot of difference
-I am not a patient person, I was born impatient I will die that way
-The rebuild can't come as fast as I would like it to come
-Trade freeze anyway
