But yes 2-3-2 would likely be the format, with each team flying (it's too far in a playoff series to drive).

I'd be on with this as a) I get to see more of Porier, b) if Cape Breton wins Porier could go to Abbotsford win/win, and c) English broadcasting for CP. Any questions for Porier that folks have I could likely funnel though the local media here.
Starting to look more like Cape Breton/Gatineau. Cape Breton is locked into 9th, Gatineau can still catch Quebec for 7th but that would require Quebec to lose today (they are winning 1-0 right now in the 1st) and Gatineau beating Rimouski who has won 16 in a row.

Interesting that Rimouski has won 16 in a row and Halifax has a 12 game winning streak going as well. Really going to be a dog fight in the playoffs with the top 8 teams within 10 points.

I just got a text. Apparently it's Gatineau and Cape Breton in round one.

Bingo can't get me a scouts pass can he?

I see his potential as a mix of a "healthy Lombardi" with Eric Nystrom grit.

I see a better Corey Perry, with a mix of Wayne Gretzky.

I love when someone says something like..Jankowski projects to be a Niewendyk type - and people go all red and say - so he's going to score hundreds of goals ? No it means his body type and playing style, strengths - weaknesses. It is in no way to say something like Poirier will be a mix of Perry and Gretzky so he'll have one 49 goal season and he'll win cups for the oilers and kings??

No - its a lot less of a comparison with the career / ability / accomplishments and more the style, strengths and weaknesses.

I'm sure you knew that saxon - but i constantly see it on this forum where someone says something like Gaudreau projects to be a MSL type or Kane type - and it kind of makes people go "are you ####ing crazy?" when it simply a misunderstanding.

How did we go from a Lombardi/Nystrom combo to a Perry/Gretzky comparison?

These sorts of things happen all the time. Because Poirier was drafted out of the Q, and because he's fast, of course Lombardi immediately comes to mind. It's a silly comparison, though. Poirier is bigger and with better puck skills than Lombardi, and then has a great combination of toughness and a bit of a mean streak. Nothing remotely comparable outside of their straight-line speed.

A healthy mix of Gary Roberts and Marian Gaborik.

Derailing a thread in a funny way can be ok sometimes but posting same useless crap over and over again in a thread where people click for updates about a prospect is really annoying.
