This going to be so flipping awesome in October. Riders finish the season 17-1 and lose to the Stamps in the Western final.

Looks like Etienne got injured on this play. He did not come back and they said he's got an upper body injury.

The Riders look a whole lot less impressive over the past 3-4 weeks. They peaked early....... again.

Riders looked sloppy early on, but as usual they absolutely dominated the second half.

Good win, especially on Labour Day. Now what is this I hear about Hedley performing at halftime? It's a good thing only 14 year old girls go to the Grey Cup.

Clown. Its YOUR job to find talent and you have done a splendid job building an awesome team.... For you to single out a player twice this season is funny as well because again he's not really the biggest problem as you have a pathetic OL with guys who likely couldn't even start on any other team in the league (minus Simeon Rottier). Now ain't that funny he singled out the only good player on his OL twice this year?

If Simeon Rottier is cut by the clueless jackass named Ed Hervey he would be a pretty solid pickup for some team out there as he a pretty solid player. He's 10x times better then any other starter have but for whatever reason he is badly underperforming. A change of scenery might do him so good. Kris Sweet could be the problem as well because the hoggies in Saskatchewan didn't like him last year and apparently tuned him out. Maybe some of them have already tuned him out as well?

Quote:
Edmonton's general manager held court with the media on Tuesday, angrily calling out Simeon Rottier and saying the veteran lineman may have played his last game with the team this season.

"Simeon Rottier will not start on Friday," he said flatly. While offence wasn't an issue for the Eskimos down the stretch, Calgary's defence went through Edmonton's offensive line for seven sacks on Monday in a 37-34 loss.

"Our first priority is to protect our quarterback," Hervey continued. "We will make some changes on our O-line. There comes a point where we have to be honest with our team, players and the fans. It's obvious we need to protect our quarterback better."

Hervey was also frustrated with Edmonton's offensive play, particularly in short yardage situations and said changes will be made on that front beginning with offensive co-ordinator Doug Sams no longer calling the plays. "I will improve this team," he vowed. "I don't care who I have to go though to do it."

Could they have not debuted this jersey against a different team? BC will be in primarily white. I do like them though.

Well, that's Edmonton to you. They blame everyone but KAVIS REED. I think this clown is the real problem in this team. He's been outcoached so many times. He makes some dumb and weird coaching decisions. Granted their OLine sucks but singling out one guy because he's been in a league for a long time is unfair. From what I've seen on yesterday's game Stamps defense are pressuring Mike Reilly everywhere..left, right and even in the middle. I don't think Rottier plays in every single sides of the OLine.

Too bad the Eskimos have been a joke of a team for the last few seasons. Not even sure what Edmonton organizations sees in Ed Hervey to give him the GM duties. He's been a scout for that team in the last few years but i don't even think he brought anyone other than JC Sherritt. Oh well, i guess I can't complain much since I hated that team anyways.

Its empty in Toronto which make sound like a funeral, backup quarterbacks with neither team playing well and Rod Black play by play. Very painful to watch and even worse its on south of the border.

Some ugly QBing here. Neither guy looks too good this evening

Whitaker is hurt again. Could be his knee, went down without contact. Fortunately he was able to walk off under his own power.

I don't understand why the CFL changed their Labour Day weekend schedule. First, didn't they used have the following matchup : Calgary-Edmonton, Winnipeg-Saskatchewan, Toronto-Hamilton then BC-Montreal. All the matchup are back-to-back games either being played on a Sunday and Labour Day. Why the Tuesday night game between Toronto and Montreal?? No wonder the freaking stadium's attendance is brutal. The real rivalry I think the Toronto and Hamilton.

Boring game, boring play-by-play, quiet stadium...wow totally different from the Banjo Bowl and Battle of Alberta.

They didn't do the battle of Ontario game because it was usually in Hamilton, and their stadium is under reconstruction. I believe Rogers Centre takes two days to flip from baseball to football, so the game couldn't be held there yesterday.

They could have played in Guelph yesterday and i am definitely sure the atmosphere could have been a lot better than tonight's game.

Winnipeg has signed Levi Brown, furthers my theory that I believe Buck Pierce is on the way out. Physically talented, strong arm, and excellent release of the ball. His problem is he is slow to read defenses, make decisions with the ball, and react. He's definitely worth a look by Winnipeg.

Chris Garrett was/going to be in Regina this morning for a physical and will be signed if he passes. Good signing if/when since they have no depth behind Kory Sheets. He was poised to become a star prior to his injury at training camp in 2012.

Default CFL adjusts eligibility rules for Draft

Quote:
The Canadian Football League announced today that it has adjusted its eligibility rules for players with non-import status in the CFL Draft.

For players with non-import status playing in the CIS, they will be eligible to be selected in the CFL Draft three years after completing their first year of CIS eligibility.

Previously, a CIS player was eligible to be selected after their fourth year of post-secondary education.

In addition, the CFL also adjusted the eligibility rules for players with non-import status playing in the NCAA or NAIA. They will now be eligible to be selected in the CFL Draft after their senior season of NCAA or NAIA eligibility.

This eliminates the “Red-Shirt Junior” from the Draft. Starting in 2014, all players eligible to be selected will be able to immediately join the CFL team they are drafted by.

“These adjustments will provide our teams with a better opportunity to select the best players available who are ready and able to join their club in training camp that season,” said Kevin McDonald, Vice President of Football Operations. “These changes are welcomed by our teams and eliminate a degree of uncertainty when drafting players.”
