At least we have the monitoring equipment to see these deluge's coming our way (Calgary at least). Imagine back 50 years and all the sudden the Elbow and Bow rise 2 meters.....

And don't forget how much the dams help

Had a look at the Bow 1:30 and again at 3:30 - looks like it rose about 2-3 feet in that time. St. Patrick's Bridge construction is looking like this right now.

Some guy on Facebook had an INSANE video of Elbow Falls up. Looks like Niagara. Crazy.
That looks like the bridge just east of Allen Bill Pond.

ABP was just recently rebuilt after damage from the '05 flood. I wonder if they will bother to fix it again.

If the Bow were to swell enough to take out Deerfoot, it's taking all of Riverbend with it.

If places like Mckenzie towne start to get threatened, I will start looking for the nearest ark to hitch a ride on.

From a guy at work.

Please be aware of the following closures: Ramp from westbound Glenmore to both north and southbound Deerfoot to be closed by rush hour.”

Unsurprising. It flooded out in 2005 as well. Heritage Drive at Glenmore is likely to end up under water at some point as well, if it isn't already.

I'm at Vendome right now. No sign of flood waters. I will post if there's a change in status. Hope that alleviates most of your concerns.

How does that make sense? Why would that be closed?

The only area that would remotely make sense and possibly be affected in my mind is that messed up exit off of deerfoot to Glenmore Trail. That parallels the bow with the pathway in between. Just near the BMW/Benz/Infiniti dealerships.

Just read that the pipeline rupture in Turner Valley has been contained. One small relief for them, I suppose.

Weird...

here's the tweet...

City of Calgary ‏@cityofcalgary 1h Please be aware of the following closures: Ramp from westbound Glenmore to both north and southbound Deerfoot to be closed by rush hour.

Though there is a chance its not related to the flooding at all. Seems odd that it would be affected by it...you would think a whole lot more of flooding would have to occur for it to get to that point.

Edit: i guess they say it is weather related.
