Roy was one of the more plausible options out there for a C.

I've never really been a big fan of Hudler and probably would have preferred just re-signing Jokinen because at least he has some size and strength advantage over Hudler and some proven chemistry with Glencross and moments with Iginla and Tanguay, but I'm also looking forward to seeing how all these new additions work out. Hopefully Hudler finds some chemistry early and helps Baertchi along, in which case this could all work out for the better.

I think we look better on paper already and it's looking like, with the number of proven NHLers on the roster at this point, there are going to be at least a couple significant trades coming before regular season starts. I'm optimistic Feaster has a solid plan in place and can't wait to see how this all turns out.

Is it the re-signed average Stempniak/Comeau last years roster on one side, with unknowns like Cervenka and Hudler on the other side? The loss of veteran leadership in Jokinen and TK? Still no top centre? The smaller forward roster? Not sure.

But yes MMF, it is July 2.
It's a weird group. You have two European rookies there basically guaranteed significant ice time. If they'd addressed the specific weaknesses in size, toughness, character, faceoffs, it would seem better, but basically they've just filled the slots. Would have been happier trading for someone like Ott, for example. Someone that injects some emotional life to the lineup and helps the others to get out of their shells.

Stop it - don't be sayin' that. Flames need to just say NO to past nightmares that slightly improved the second time around. It is best to move on from Jokinen

I really liked TK but on the 4th line. You can bet that we wont be forced to play guys like that on scoring lines next year. (knock on wood)

Not a fan of the signing but it fits in with Feasters get into 6-8th and get two home games mentality so understand why he did it.

Agreed. I thought if he was available, we would be in the game.

We need a Center. The only other guy that are remotely good are

Jason Arnott
Olli Jokinen
Daymond Langkow
and a bunch of 3rd/4th line C's like Hecht, Brule, Moore, etc.

If you eliminate the best guy on that list, and the 3rd best guy on that list, you're left with Jason Arnott. I'm not opposed to Arnott coming here at all for a year or 2. Just think that if you're going to get someone, why not get a guy that you know has chemistry with players etc.

Good signing but I'm afraid he was elevated by the Wings system and won't put up as many points here.

Pretty stoked about this signing. Excellent talent that the Flames need in the worst way. Nicely done Feaster.
