Yeesh, I hope not.
Stick with the retro as the 3rd and I'll be happy... unless we're adding a retro away jersey too...

I'm sure we'll end up with something along the lines of our current home and away jerseys remaining the same, a new third jersey and then they'll introduce a "throwback" jersey (wouldn't be surprised to see it be the white retro)

The original Atlanta stripes were based on the FDNY fire trucks:
Every time I see a CFD truck, I think the stripes would look good on the Flames (the red is darker too):

I agree that would look really good, they could also alter the "CFD" to "CFH" and use the 3 letters as a shoulder patch.

I can't stand our main home & away jerseys, and combined with that hideous striping on the pants, urg - It's a freaking eye sore. Roll with our thirds, make a white away version and I'll be happy.

Hopfully they add a 4th white retro to match the red one and by 2014 it'll be the home set.

That's what I'm hoping if they're going to add a new jersey. I would be happy with that. Would prefer Flames make a new jersey design that blends the retro colours and look with a few tweaks to modernize it. Like in the picture below.

Take with a grain of salt...according to icethetics.info
I sure as #### hope, they don't drop the 80s retro jerseys. IMO they should use the retros for both home and away (create a white version as it was in the 80s) and introduce a new third jersey. Anyways:

Reebok says Flames are swapping out retro third
This one definitely gets a big question mark from me. According to Reebok's catalog, the Calgary Flames are apparently eyeing a new third jersey for next season.
The logical question you have to ask is, why? Why dump the brightly-colored retro alternate in the first place? Are fans complaining about it? Are they not buying them? Can't imagine either of those are true. Or that a new Flames third jersey would be any color but black. Which will excite almost none of you.
Here's my hope. Maybe the NHL is wising up to the retro trend and allowing teams a "fourth" throwback jersey. That would allow the Flames to keep their 1980s-style red sweater while also experimenting with a new third design. Then maybe they'll add a few "Retro Nights" throughout the season. On those nights, every team that has one gets to break out their throwback.
But that's all just wishful thinking. Would be nice though, right? And for what it's worth, we've had no confirmation yet from the Flames that a new sweater is forthcoming.

This is the best set on this entire thread - IMHO. I'd be beyond stoked if these were to become the new threads and they stuck with them for a very long time....

If there is a 3rd jersey coming the Flames would be wise to stick to Red as the main color.
Do they not want a overwelming C of red or what.

To add to this previous post. I came up with this crude attempt of a shoulder patch/secondary logo for both the home and away logos.

Its pretty sweet, Even just "CF" would do. It does look like a baseball logo though.

I don't understand this logic. When the C of Red started the Flames, and the entire NHL for that matter wore white at home. Its pretty easy to figure out.
Why hasn't this thread been shut down? It's like everyone getting into an argument about "how long a piece of string is"
after seeing the puke colored heritage jersey, and the even worse replicas, I am sure we are in for a doozy of a bad jersey anyway. With all the owners and Ken King's ego, good luck with that.

It's a thread for ideas. Many of us here on CP don't particularly like the current unis, so this thread is here for suggestions, mockups, etc. I think it's a useful spot to keep all of it in one place.
