I would think Gaudreau has a good shot at being first line for USA

I looked all over the internet, can anyone post some "big name" players that Gaudreau will be fighting with for a roster spot on Team USA?

Roster for Team USA's evaluation camp this past summer:
http://www.usahockey.com/2012NJECRoster.aspx

Some of the big name forwards (other than Gaudrea) at that camp:
Alex Galchenyuk
Tyler Biggs
Nicolas Kerdiles
Mario Lucia
Stefan Matteau
JT Miller
Stefan Noesen
Henrik Sammuelson
Vince Trochek

^slightly updated; apparently they've trimmed a few names

http://www.usahockey.com/2012NJECFinalRoster.aspx

also, Nicolas Kerdiles has been suspended for one year; he's appealing, but may not play NCAA this season, and possibly no hockey, unless he leaves school for CHL

OT, but the reason Kerdiles was suspended :

edit: Apparently the Kerdiles suspension was reduced to 10 games, and a Ducks executive expects him to stay with Wisconsin.

Even if Gaudreau had a so-so camp I still think he would be a lock, Hockey USA know now what a big game player this little guy is, they won't make that mistake.

For those who want to see this kid play there is a thread on the Backburner forum where we are trying to decipher which games are on TV and what channels...

http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=119708

Boston College plays Providence three times this year as well, Gaudreau vs. Jankowski.

Credit to Freeway for being on top of this and getting the ball rolling.

It's hard to find direct links to their highlights, but if you go here:
http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-hoc...ckey-body.html

The 2nd top story bullet (has a video camera icon) titled No. 3 Men's Hockey Blanks...
- at 1:52, Gaudreau scores a breakaway goal
- at 2:00, Gaudreau has a good chance off a wraparound
- at 2:12, Gaudreau sets up another goal.

Still looking for the OT goal game.

That was Friday night's game. Neither BC nor UMass has video from that game on their websites, so we might be out of luck.

"..When you get a pass like that from Johnny Gaundreau and you've got all day long.."

Awesome commentary!

Also Check this post game presser with the coach and Gaudreau from Saturday night.

Is it just me or is the ice surface huge?

He could be the mini American version of Jordan Eberle

IIRC, NCAA uses international sized rinks instead of NHL regulation rinks.

NHL size ice is preferred but since many teams don't control their rinks other dimensions are allowed

Is Gaudreau a little taller this year? He doesn't seem quite as comically small.

I thought he went from 5'6 135 to 5'8 150 over the summer?
