Kenny Miller is a great signing for the whitecaps
he was still playing at a pretty good level in the championship last year, he should be able to score and help create up front

^ Agreed. I think that he'll definitely help add some scoring, not to mention a lot of experience and leadership.

From 3 DPs down to 1 in a week. Hopefully TFC can continue their resurgence without Koevs.

Sounders draw against Redbulls on Sunday and play tonight against Chelsea. It will be Roger Levesque's last match. He is one of the original Sounders from the USL days and a fan favorite.
Men against boys tonight. I do enjoy the friendlies to show how far MLS has gone or has to go against the big boys but Sounders are fighting for a playoff spot plus have the USOC final and Champion's league play all within a few weeks.
It will mostly be the B squad to rest up for what is important so it will be an even bigger blow out than usual....me thinks.

Just got back from the Whitecaps - Galaxy game. Terrific. Phenomenal time.
Disappointing to see the Caps blow the lead, but at least they got the point.

^ I watched the game on TV. So much action. Although the Whitecaps will see it as two points dropped instead of one gained, it was a great advertisement for the MLS in Vancouver. People will be talking about it tomorrow, that's for sure.

TFC have acquired Eric Hassli from Van. A needed move by the club, but one that, IMO, doesn't address their most pressing need. Their backend is still in shambles and among the worst in the league.
Meanwhile, I guess Mattocks is the guy going forward for the Whitecaps. He's cheaper and much younger, and he's been pretty good so far for them.

I like this move, although admittedly, I lean a bit more to being a Vancouver fan. But I think that Toronto needs someone like Hassli (although, as you say, not as badly as they need defenders), and Vancouver has made him dispensable with their recent moves. I have always liked Hassli, and even though he takes a lot of stupid yellow cards, he is a big, old fashioned striker who loves to strike the ball.
Toronto's focus is obviously "fix it now", whereas Vancouver has the rare opportunity to build while they are actually in a good position in the standings.

I believe in the Jays.

I like the moves this past week for the 'Caps. Hassli is a good player, but he was hardly seeing the field anymore. The pick from TFC could end up being a very good one too.

Damn, that is good for the Whitecaps. 3 first round picks next season to add to an already decent squad? Not bad at all.

I think the pick from TFC is in the 2014 draft, or at least that is what is says on TSN. So, we should hope that TFC passes Philly this season, and then proceeds to suck the following season.

That was a pretty solid effort tonight by the Whitecaps. The penalty was borderline - the ball was too far ahead, although there was still contact. But aside from things being pretty tense for the last 10 minutes as the Caps hung on, I was pleased with the effort.
The next two games are huge. Away to RSL in less than a week, a week off, and then home to RSL again. A draw and a win would be good, but imagine two wins to put Vancouver into second. Dare to dream, Arnold, dare to dream. I`m stoked because I`ll be at game on August 11th (as I have gushed about previously). It is amazing to see how much this team has changed since I saw them play Houston in June, but I think that the changes are definitely steps forward.

I'm not sure why all the controversy with that penalty. From where I was which was on that side of the field on the goal line, no way Camilo is that good an actor. He was clipped, embellished or not.
Whitecaps look very good. I knew Richards was fast but I was really impressed with his foot work.

Wow, that's one of Australia's biggest soccer exports. Cahill and Henry are going to be deadly.

So I thought that game against Chelsea tonight really entertained. Eff Chelsea, effing wankers. Henry and Beckham both with incredible setups on two of the MLS goals. Wow. I can't remember the name of the guy who scored the game winner in extra time but good job making up for wussing out on what could of been a goal of the year candidate if you had freaking dove for the header. It was gift wrapped.

I hate chelsea with a passion, they are only the European champs because they of penalty kicks. They were not the best team in that game.
