ALL ABOARD!

I guess even people who pre-ordered tickets aren't being allowed in today. They aren't selling tickets tomorrow so you have to have already bought your tickets to get in.
Should be interesting for Exposed tonight.

It's a complete gong show today, a massive line being turned away, they were not expecting it to be this huge. It's insane.

Just got back and the size of the crowd was unbelievable.
There is so much to see and do - it was awesome. So easy to drop a whole helluva lot of money there.
Also, if you're a fan of boobs, there are many on display.
Yes, crowds being turned away as I was leaving. I think things would be better in the evening, but hard to say.

I just got back from being punted out of the lineup, and apparently it was the fire marshal's decision to halt ticket sales today. Not even people who had early bid passes were allowed in.
Maybe it'll dither out as the day goes on, but I think I'd rather just wait until tomorrow.

I'm currently waiting to drive out of the Stampede parking (slower than Flames games right now) and yeah it was worth the money. The corral was packed but not full for the noon panel with Wil Wheaton, Levar Burton and Brent Spiner, who were very funny.
I bought a bunch of old games and some other stuff too. Unfortunately nothing I wanted from Bertuzzied's booth.
Wall to wall people everywhere though. Felt like Stampede that way. A little too busy for my liking.

Well based on what happened today I doubt I'll try to come out with the toddler tomorrow, just not worth it.
If the event has gotten this big how can they possibly change it for next year? They are already taking up ALL of the space at the BMO Centre (including the corral).

Glad I went golfing instead. I hate crowds.

Gonna need a bigger building to house this event.

They can use the Saddledome, it's not like the Flames will be using it at this time of year.

I really doubt they will be able to continue to get the calibur of guests they did...but who knows, maybe I'm wrong. I kinda want it to be a little less crazy next year.
So whoever was running parking at the Stampede thought it would be good to still have 3 gates inbound and 1 gate outbound at the south entrance at 2:30PM, which explained why it took me so long to get out of there. 1 in 3 cars wanted a refund for their parking since they probably couldn't get in the event, and it took forever to get each refund processed. Really stupid of them not to open another outbound lane when you see this massive line of cars wanting to get out. Took me 35 minutes to leave the parking lot.

Thankfully the panel the wife and I most wanted to see (cartoon voices) was held early in the morning, so we arrived first thing. John DiMaggio was not in attendance, though, and the organizers didn't even acknowledge his absence or explain why he wasn't there.
We left around 1pm because the crowds were just insane. Far too many sweaty, smelly people crammed into that venue.
I'm glad the expo has grown as big as it has, but it's time they hired some professional event managers. It's clearly beyond the capabilities of the amateurs who are running the show now. A friend of a friend flew to Calgary specifically for this event with a pre-purchased pass but was turned away at the door. I'd be absolutely furious if I was her.

So if one did want to try and go tomorrow, what would be the best play? 11:30-12:00, so all the lineups have gone in and are starting to leave? 2:30, in the middle to miss the early ones and before the later ones come? Or just not worth it?

Things got worse as the day went on today, but maybe they'll calm down tonight, who knows. I would say sometime shortly after the initial stampede of people. I got there at 11AM today and while it took a while to get in with a pre-purchased pass, it wasn't too bad.

MarchHare, your experience sounds similar to mine.
The voice acting panel was my number one event of last year... But what a let down this year was. DiMaggio wasn't there and the guy in the middle went on for half the time wasting most of the hour on the opening question.
Tara Strong was visibly upset with how much time they wanted and was rather ####y about it, which was fine. One hour for five people, two you might care about was silly.
The fat moderator should have just asked them who they were and some noises they're known for, not such an open ended question and let them go one with one answer. Two questions were asked? Yikes.
I hope it continues to grow but some major lessons were learned today.

I bet it's easier to get in this evening; there were a LOT of families there today and they can't last all day. That being said - the lineups, the lack of communication and signage really was disappointing.
Some of the costumes were incredible and almost inappropriate.

Made a couple sandwiches, premade my scrambled eggs for microwaving tomorrow, and have some cold pops ready to go in a insulated bag with a frozen thinger. I hope to see lots of geeky chicks showing boobs tomorrow.
