I thought Rogers was struggling financially after they overpaid for the national rights? If so it shouldn't be an issue for TSN to outbid them for regional rights in a few years.
As great as Bell and Hrudey are, I always look forward to any Leafs, Sens and Jets games I can watch on the TSN feed.

Rick Ball is grossly under valued by Rogers. Make no mistake, I don't want them to recognize his skill and take him from us, but I would hope that is TSN does step up that Ball goes over.
Perhaps we should stop complaining to Sportsnet who've made it clear they don't care, and show TSN that we want them here? The Coilers and their circle-jerking peons can have Rogers all to themselves. Sadly though I think the Flames are saddled with Rogers because TSN would have to take both teams in this "region" and not just one or the other.
Plus we will still end up with the Flames on HNIC (2 or 3 times a year), Wednesday night double headers (4 or 5 times) and a hometown hockey Sunday or two. Anything on home ice will be subject to the same crap we have now.

Just now I heard Ball mention that Pickard made a blocker save before Hamilton even had the puck off his stick

It's brutal that we've been conditioned to accept such a #### broadcast and #### analysts and a #### panel.
Leah Hextall, one of the bright spots on the panel, was removed.
Thank Christ for Ball & Hrudey.

I no longer watch sportsnet on gamecenter, I watch the away broadcast and switch back during the intermission. The sound is way better as the crowd volume is usually turned up way more that sportsnet.

The one thing I miss most about gamecenter was that I always watched the other team's broadcast. Much more interesting to get the in depth analysis on their players anyways.

I do the same thing. Now that the Flames are winning a lot, the homer American announcers get their panties all bunched up and it's pretty humorous to hear. Also much better picture and sound quality.
And usually they are singing Gaudreau's praises all game long

it was really off last night against the avs
was it in the second or third when (i think it was) tkachuk and backlund hit the post/crossbar one right after the other... the puck hadn't left the players' sticks and you could here the puck hit the iron
grrrrrrrrrr
i watched an oilers game a couple days ago 'watching' for stuff being out of sync. it was pretty much bang on. the sound was maybe just a hair behind, but not really noticeable and as mentioned, i was looking for 'out of sync-ness' (is that even a term??)

Yeah, the back-to-back crossbars were painfully obvious.

I watched the Flames/canucks game in December and the sound was bang on, but being in BC, I only was able to watch the canucks' feed. The only games I ever notice the sound being very out of sync, are Flames broadcasts of Flames games.

Man, after watching so many World Jr. games on TSN this week, it is really obvious how bush-league the SN broadcasts are. They are terrible. Audio, video, production, everything. Total dumpster fire!

Though I definitely agree with the Sportsnet sentiment here, I find it hard to switch away from Ball/Hrudey.
After those few years of Kerr and Simmer where I desperately tried to listen to the away broadcasters every chance I could, there is simply no way I am wasting however much "Ball and Hrudey time" I have.

TSN's broadcasts and panels are head-and-shoulders above the rest; with the old CBC coming a close second. Sportsnet has been a complete disaster, with notable failures being the pickle fiasco and the Freddie Hamilton "3 stars of the game" when scratched.
That being said, I found the one TSN PBP announcer who did the World Juniors Final game hard to listen to when the action gets heated. He gets quite excited and his voice starts to break like a teenager. Anyone know who it is? (EDIT - maybe Gord Miller?)

If it's Gord Miller he's hardly hard to listen to, he's one of the best.

Maybe it's time we take our complaining outside the walls of CP in a coordinated manor?
When it comes to technical problems... Someone, somewhere, sitting at a desk, can fix it...

Sportsnet would just shrug their shoulders and say deal with it. We're gonna watch hockey anyway, and they have a monopoly.
